Chapter 38: Annihilate Your Entire Clan
At the Cai Residence, a young man with a pale complexion had just woken up when a maidservant brought him a cup of water.
The young man took it, rinsed his mouth, and then spat it directly onto the maidservant. The maidservant didn't get angry, instead smiling and saying, "Thank you, Young Master, for your generosity."
"Thank you, Young Master, for your generosity," came a female voice from beneath the young man.
It turned out another maidservant had been used as a chamber pot.
The young man slightly opened his hand, and three more maidservants came to wash his face, dress him, and tie his hair.
After getting ready, the young man went to the front hall, where breakfast was already prepared on the table.
Without him needing to lift a finger, new maidservants began blowing on the congee to cool it for him.
As he was eating, the young man suddenly frowned, "What's going on? Why is it so noisy in the front courtyard today?"
"This servant will go and ask," a maidservant immediately went out, but after a few breaths, the young man heard the front courtyard fall silent. However, a strange man had already entered his courtyard.
Seeing the blood-stained long spear, the young man knew the visitor was not friendly, yet he still spoke with an unfriendly tone, "What kind of mongrel are you, daring to trespass into my Cai family? Don't you know my father is a cultivator?"
"Are you Cai Chengxuan?" Lin Le asked indifferently.
"So what if I am? When my father arrives, you'll be dead!" Cai Chengxuan said with a sinister expression.
"Yes, good," Lin Le nodded slightly, and with a flash, he appeared before Cai Chengxuan.
Then, he grabbed Cai Chengxuan's head with one hand.
The force was so great it could almost rip off Cai Chengxuan's scalp.
The intense pain caused Cai Chengxuan to curse at Lin Le, "You son of a bitch! @#¥%..."
Lin Le ignored him, dragged him to the courtyard, and then threw him, sending Cai Chengxuan flying into the air.
When he fell back down, Lin Le held a bamboo pole in his hand.
The pole pierced through him, impaling Cai Chengxuan.
"Cough, cough, cough!" Cai Chengxuan's face contorted in agony, but the bamboo pole was already lodged in his throat, preventing him from speaking.
Lin Le stood him up on the ground, letting him linger on.
Previously, he lacked the means, but now he could make these wicked people suffer more before they died.
Lin Le looked at the maidservants with a detached expression, "Who among you has bullied others? Speak!"
The single word "Speak!" was like the wrath of the Thunder God, shattering the maidservants' defenses.
They all cried and said no.
Yet, Lin Le still stabbed three of them to death.
Lin Le turned and continued his slaughter, bloodily washing through the Cai mansion.
After the massacre, Lin Le sat on the table where Cai Chengxuan had sat, eating the unfinished food while watching Cai Chengxuan tremble as if electrocuted.
According to the surviving servants, the Cai family master had gone to the Town Chief's house early in the morning to discuss something, and by this time, he should be returning soon.
In a courtyard with four entrances and four exits, a middle-aged man with a somewhat pale complexion felt uneasy, as if something bad had happened.
Ever since he became a cultivator and the overlord of Qinghu Town, he hadn't felt this kind of unease.
In the front hall, a man sitting in the main seat, with a prosperous appearance, said, "Gentry Cai, what's wrong? Aren't you happy about the money distribution?"
Gentry Cai forced a smile, "Of course, I'm happy. It's just that seeing Town Chief Yan reminds me of my useless good-for-nothing son. If he had half your capabilities, I wouldn't be so worried."
"Haha, you can't split your abilities in half," Town Chief Yan chuckled, but inwardly he scoffed. They were in the same town, who didn't know who?
This old ghost probably deliberately raised his only son in such a way just to capture more good ghosts to be his soldiers!
Town Chief Yan clapped his hands, "Come, bring the money."
Four delicate maidservants each carried a platter, walking towards the four gentry lords in the center.
"There's not much profit to be made from the townsfolk below," Town Chief Yan said. "So this time, the money is less, and most of it is settled with land deeds."
One gentry lord nodded in agreement, "That's true. But when will the higher-ups allow the Imperial Qi to gather and let those demons run rampant? Our normal businesses are also affected."
"Our Steward Lu even lost a good daughter," the gentry lord said with a hint of teasing.
Steward Lu snorted, "She was just a lowly maid born to a servant girl, it doesn't matter if she's gone. It's that Mountain Imp, its appetite is really getting bigger and bigger!"
Town Chief Yan's face showed a hint of difficulty, "The Imperial Qi might not gather for a while."
"What's wrong?" one gentry lord frowned. "What else does that evil flood dragon from Dongbo Lake want?"
"Not exactly," Town Chief Yan pointed upwards with his finger. "When the floodwaters rose, they accidentally opened a large tomb. It's probably left by a Golden Core True Person."
"That great tomb uses the power of the earth veins for a very strong defense, so the people in the prefecture city want to weaken the earth veins to open that great tomb."
"When will that be?" Gentry Cai worried. "If the demons continue to wreak havoc, won't our Anzhu Prefecture become a ghost realm everywhere?"
The other four couldn't help but sneer inwardly. It's probably what you want to see the most, old ghost Cai. Do you really think we don't know how this old ghost got his reputation?
On the surface, however, they still politely flattered Gentry Cai for his benevolent heart, claiming he was willing to consider those lowly commoners.
On the way back to the residence, Gentry Cai suddenly frowned. He sensed a very strong resentment and death aura.
That location? It was his house!
As the carriage drew closer, Gentry Cai's expression grew increasingly grim. In the time it took him to leave town, his home had been slaughtered.
The carriage stopped, and Gentry Cai stepped out. He saw a stranger holding a spear, waiting for him at the entrance. Beside the man stood a pole, and impaled upon it was his only son, Cai Chengxuan.
Only the slight rise and fall of his chest indicated he was still alive.
"Cai Xiuyong, Gentry Cai?" Lin Le asked the man stepping out of the carriage.
Cai Xiuyong nodded. "It is I. From which family do you hail, and why have you harmed my son?"
"That you are him is enough," Lin Le nodded slightly. He drew his spear across, and a wound appeared on Cai Chengxuan's neck, blood gushing out.
Cai Chengxuan's eyes gradually lost their light.
Witnessing this provocative act, Cai Xiuyong's face turned so dark it seemed like water could drip from it. "Do you know how much effort I poured into nurturing this talent? How dare you destroy it all!"
"What concern is that of mine," Lin Le replied coldly.
As the words fell, he had already appeared before Cai Xiuyong.
"Insolent! A mere Four Limits martial artist, who gave you the audacity to act so arrogantly before me!" Cai Xiuyong roared in fury. A bone shield materialized above his head, blocking Lin Le's spear thrust.
A mere Four Limits?
Lin Le's expression remained calm as he swung his spear down again.
First Style of Fighting Heaven, Setting Sun!
Boom!
Like a great bell being struck, Cai Xiuyong's expression changed. He could feel his magical artifact sustaining damage.
