Biyue Bay Beach. Zhuang Xin arrived to find construction had already begun.
Construction crews surrounded the area, cordoning off a large portion of the beach.
After walking in, he called Xu Chi, who soon jogged out wearing a hard hat.
"Brother, what brings you here?" Xu Chi asked with a smile.
"Mm, how's everything going here?"
"The construction site... work is going well, no major issues, but..." Xu Chi suddenly looked troubled, then let out a dry laugh, lowering his head.
Sensing Xu Chi's unease, Zhuang Xin smiled, "But what?"
"Ah, it's nothing really. Just that a dozen or so punks showed up recently. They were causing trouble every day for the past couple of days, but I gave them some money, and they haven't shown up yesterday or today. I guess it was worth paying to avoid further trouble."
"Oh?" Zhuang Xin shook his head, not thinking much of it. They were probably just some thugs looking for quick cash.
He didn't pay much attention to the small sum of money. He took Xu Chi on a tour and was relieved to see the construction site running in an orderly fashion.
However, the funding gap still needed to be addressed at the stock market.
Sitting in his car, before starting the engine, Zhuang Xin casually opened his system and found a new quest.
'Become a "Stock Market Tycoon," earn at least two billion in funds. Reward: Background +1, System Ability +1.'
"A new quest." The system previously had only two quests. One about Nie Han'er's approval was still incomplete. This Stock Market Tycoon quest was newly added.
Whatever he needed, the system provided.
Since he was heading to the stock market anyway, the new quest arrived at the perfect time.
Zhuang Xin smiled and drove to the stock market trading hall.
As soon as he entered, he spotted a familiar face.
"It's her..." Zhuang Xin froze. A girl selling off stocks was the same one he had taken down at the fitness clubhouse that day.
Her left cheek was still slightly swollen and red, indicating she hadn't fully recovered.
Thinking about how heavy-handed he had been that day, Zhuang Xin felt a pang of guilt.
After all, she was a girl.
But it was Zhuang Xin's first fight, and he hadn't fully controlled his strength, so it was understandable that he had hit too hard.
Trying to avoid the girl, Zhuang Xin lowered his head and walked towards another section.
However, after only a couple of steps, he was stopped by a girl about eighteen or nineteen years old, wearing a goose-yellow dress.
"Hey, it's you!" This girl was the one who had asked Dong Pan to go easy on Zhuang Xin at the clubhouse, fearing he might get hurt. Among that group of girls, she was the youngest.
"My name is Lin Xinya. What's yours? It was good you left quickly that day, otherwise, if my big sister had shown up, you'd have been in serious trouble." Lin Xinya said with a hint of complaint, "You were too rough. Sister Pan Pan might have been a bit arrogant, but she was mostly joking. Everyone at the clubhouse knows that, but I guess it's understandable, you're not one of us."
"Xinya, what are you doing over there?" Dong Pan, clutching her waist, careful not to aggravate her back injury as she walked, approached and saw Zhuang Xin. Her beautiful eyes widened. "You, you, you... it's you!"
"Uh..."
With no escape, Zhuang Xin spread his hands helplessly.
"Good! I finally found you, you scoundrel!" Dong Pan habitually reached for Zhuang Xin's collar to teach him a lesson, but the movement aggravated her back injury. She gasped in pain, grimacing, then realized she probably couldn't win... so she backed down.
"Hmph! You beat me up like this and then ran away. Are you even a man?" Dong Pan murmured aggrievedly. It was the first time in her life she had been so badly injured. She was even scolded by her parents when she got home, telling her to be more careful and not so arrogant in the future.
They even restricted her bank card, leaving her with no money to go out and have fun.
So, she came here to sell stocks and get some cash to go shopping.
Zhuang Xin rubbed his nose, guiltily saying, "Didn't you tell me to hit you?"
"Hey, hey, hey, you heartless guy." Dong Pan got agitated. Knowing she was in the wrong, she still refused to lose face. "If you have the guts, let's fight again when I've recovered."
"I'll be ready anytime." When it came to fighting, Zhuang Xin was fearless.
"You... Hmph! I don't care. Look at me, I won't recover for at least several months. I can barely stand now. You figure it out, compensate me... How about you teach me to fight! Or else... I'll pester you for the rest of my life!" Dong Pan bared her small fangs, looking fierce.
Zhuang Xin also felt it wasn't very manly to have beaten such a beautiful girl, even though she had been quite arrogant that day... but she hadn't actually done anything, had she?
Moreover, if she wanted revenge, with her family background, she could definitely wield immense power, but she hadn't.
This showed she wasn't a bad person. After a moment of thought, Zhuang Xin said, "Alright, don't say I don't compensate you. But it depends on whether you have the guts!"
"Guts? Humph, besides having a lot of money, my second greatest asset is my courage!" Dong Pan said proudly.
"Good! You said it yourself. Don't back down when the time comes and miss the opportunity. Go buy me a notebook and a pen. I'll wait for you here!" Zhuang Xin found a place to sit.
Dong Pan looked at his relaxed demeanor, grinding her teeth in annoyance, but still had Lin Xinya help her go buy the notebook and pen.
Zhuang Xin took the items and sat in the trading hall, watching the stock price fluctuations, sketching and writing in the notebook.
Dong Pan, who considered herself somewhat knowledgeable about stocks, couldn't understand a single word of what Zhuang Xin was writing.
"Hey, what are you doing? Is this your compensation, making me sit here with you?"
"Of course not!"
Zhuang Xin had been writing for a while and was almost done.
"If you're talking about buying stocks, I can introduce you to someone. I've made a lot of money with him over the years," Dong Pan grumbled, dissatisfied. She had thought it was something else, but it seemed to be about buying stocks.
She went to the counter and said a few words.
Immediately, a young man in a suit and tie, wearing glasses, approached Dong Pan. "Miss Dong, what brings you here? I heard you were injured. How could you come in person?"
"Hmph! I was too bored at home. Oh, right, let me introduce you to someone." With that, Dong Pan brought the young man over to Zhuang Xin.
But Zhuang Xin was still sketching and drawing, completely oblivious to his surroundings.
"This is..." The young man's expression soured upon seeing Zhuang Xin's demeanor. He had a considerable reputation in the area, and most people who sought his help didn't even warrant a second glance. If it weren't for his acquaintance with Dong Pan, he wouldn't have come here at all.
"Alright!"
Zhuang Xin smiled, closed his notebook, and stood up, patting the young man in front of him. "You're a staff member here, right? Perfect, I want to open an account and buy stocks."
The young man narrowed his eyes and sneered.
He thought to himself, 'Acting tough in front of me? Fine, I'll play along. I want to see what stock you're buying.' With a grim expression, the young man led Zhuang Xin to the trading desk and completed all the necessary registrations.
Zhuang Xin tore a page from his notebook and handed it over. "These are all of them. I have over 140 million in my card, buy it all. Just buy more of the first one, 'Mingyang Technology,' and spread the rest out evenly."
The young man was stunned. "Playing that big?"
"It's not big! If I had enough money, I'd buy even more. Oh, right, this lady..." Zhuang Xin looked at Dong Pan, still unaware of her name.
