Returning to Konoha.
Hyuga Bin rested at home for a day before starting his daily routine in Konoha the next day.
Sarutobi Hiruzen had given him a full 20 days of leave, so he could truly relax.
Hyuga Bin wouldn't report back to Sarutobi Hiruzen just because he was back in the village and end his vacation early.
He hadn't had a proper rest in the past four years, rushing to treat the injured every day and being woken up countless times by Momonoki Kano in the middle of the night.
Even with these twenty-odd days of rest, it wouldn't be enough for him to recover his energy.
Early in the morning, Hyuga Bin headed straight to the familiar food street, starting his morning culinary journey.
This time, unlike most times when he ate alone, Hyuga Bin unexpectedly ran into Kurenai Yuhi at a dessert shop and ended up sharing a table with her.
"Bin, do you like the sweets from this shop too?" Kurenai Yuhi asked with a smile.
"Mm, I really like their three-colored dango," Hyuga Bin nodded.
Seeing Kurenai Yuhi after several years, Hyuga Bin realized she was no longer the little girl she used to be.
Kurenai Yuhi was wearing makeup and lipstick today, no longer looking so childish, with a touch of a teenage girl's aura.
If it were him at eighteen, he might have been a little smitten.
After all, the more innocent the face, the more it could evoke feelings of a first love.
"I can't believe we never ran into each other before," Kurenai Yuhi said, sounding surprised.
"I usually come to this shop in the morning, and you used to come in the afternoon, right?" Hyuga Bin thought of a reason why they hadn't met before.
"That's right, our times just didn't overlap."
Kurenai Yuhi smiled in agreement, then continued, "Bin, since we met today, there's something I wanted to tell you."
"Mm, go ahead," Hyuga Bin nodded.
"This Saturday, we're having a class reunion," Kurenai Yuhi stated her idea. "After so many years since graduation, our classmates haven't had a proper get-together yet."
"Are there many classmates in the village recently?" Hyuga Bin asked, a little puzzled.
"Since the war with Sunagakure ended, most of our classmates are home right now. Even if they have to go to the front lines, it won't be for another twenty days, as the village arranges it uniformly." Kurenai Yuhi knew the village's movements because she had been in the village recently.
"Okay, I'm free this Saturday," Hyuga Bin nodded, then continued, "Is Asuma organizing the reunion?"
"Mm, yes. We've already notified the classmates who are in the village a few days ago." Kurenai Yuhi had already tried to notify Hyuga Bin earlier, but he hadn't returned to the village after several attempts.
"Are you planning to publicly announce your relationship at this class reunion?" Hyuga Bin teased Kurenai Yuhi.
Sarutobi Asuma and Kurenai Yuhi's relationship was well-known in the world of Naruto. After Sarutobi Asuma's death, Kurenai Yuhi gave birth to a daughter for the deceased Sarutobi Asuma, naming her Sarutobi Mirai.
Although Little Mirai looked a bit like Uchiha Shisui... it didn't negate the fact that the love and marriage between Sarutobi Asuma and Kurenai Yuhi were real.
"Bin, Asuma and I aren't dating," Kurenai Yuhi denied it very decisively upon hearing Hyuga Bin's words, as if she was afraid he would misunderstand.
"Kurenai, I apologize, I was mistaken," Hyuga Bin said with a smile.
When they were studying at the Ninja Academy, Sarutobi Asuma had already expressed his intention to pursue Kurenai Yuhi. Now, several years later, combined with the original story, Hyuga Bin naturally assumed they were already together.
To his surprise, he was wrong.
It was almost Konoha year 47, and Sarutobi Asuma still hadn't managed to win Kurenai Yuhi over.
"Bin, Asuma did confess to me, but I rejected him." Seeing that Hyuga Bin didn't seem to care, Kurenai Yuhi spoke again.
"Why? I think Asuma is a pretty good guy," Hyuga Bin said, confused.
As a classmate, Hyuga Bin was quite familiar with Sarutobi Asuma.
As the son of the Hokage, Sarutobi Asuma didn't have the arrogance of the "Second Hokage" in his dealings with others. He was also very good to Kurenai Yuhi, making him a decent young man.
Moreover, in the original story, the two of them were together and seemed very affectionate. Even after Sarutobi Asuma's death, Kurenai Yuhi didn't remarry.
"Asuma is indeed good, but I don't like him, so I can't accept his feelings," Kurenai Yuhi stated her reason.
"If you don't like him, it would indeed be forcing it to be together," Hyuga Bin agreed with Kurenai Yuhi's viewpoint.
Love should never be compromised.
However, if that were the case, did Kurenai Yuhi eventually end up with Sarutobi Asuma reluctantly?
"Let's not talk about me, tell me about you, have you been dating anyone recently?" Kurenai Yuhi smiled and shifted the topic to Hyuga Bin.
"No, I haven't met anyone suitable yet," Hyuga Bin shook his head.
His body and mind were ready for a relationship, but he hadn't met a girl he could like or pursue.
"Bin, tell me what kind of girls you like. Maybe I know someone suitable who I can introduce to you," Kurenai Yuhi smiled and continued to probe.
"Gentle, I don't really like very violent girls," Hyuga Bin said after thinking.
"Gentle... that's too broad a category," Kurenai Yuhi found it difficult to glean information from just that one word.
"The most important thing is the feeling," Hyuga Bin said, then added, "That moment when my heart skips a beat."
