"Long time no see, Sound Pillar. How have you been?" Gyomei Himejima clasped his hands together in front of him and greeted the short old man. Perhaps because the old man had become emotional and shouted earlier, the surrounding residents were watching the group with curiosity.

"What's going on?"

"Are they bullying an old man?"

Seeing the murmuring crowd, the old man tapped the ground with his cane and said to the four of them, "Let's go to my place. There are too many people here, it's not suitable for talking."

Gyomei Himejima followed directly behind the old man, while Yu Luo and the Kocho sisters followed in confusion. The onlookers, seeing that the main characters they were watching had left, also dispersed and returned to their tasks.

After leaving the town, the old man led the group up the mountain behind it. The mountain was planted with peach trees. Since it was summer, the trees were full of green and pink peaches, and their peculiar fragrance wafted into everyone's noses.

After walking for about half an hour, a simple wooden house stood halfway up the mountain. The old man skillfully opened the wooden door, sat directly on the tatami mat, and gestured for the four to sit down. He got straight to the point, "What do you want from me, Stone Pillar?"

The room was extremely simple, containing only pots, bowls, and some daily necessities, nothing else. It was like the life of an ascetic monk. Even when Yu Luo fled Changkong City during the third Honkai, he hadn't experienced such hardship.

"You're not even offering a cup of hot tea? We're guests, aren't we!" Yu Luo looked at the short old man, who was sitting cross-legged in the main seat, with disbelief.

The old man blew on his beard and glared at Yu Luo, "Why are you so particular at such a young age? I don't have these things here. Stay if you want, leave if you don't!"

Yu Luo helplessly raised his hands in surrender and obediently sat on the tatami mat, watching the old man converse with Gyomei Himejima, "Sound Pillar, I've found someone who wants to join the Demon Slayer Corps and I intend for you to train him."

Hearing this, Yu Luo's heart suddenly felt a sense of foreboding. He quickly adopted an indifferent expression, his eyes unfocused as he stared at the rough ceiling.

"I am no longer the Sound Pillar." The old man pointed to the prosthetic leg on his right leg and said to Gyomei Himejima, "I have retired from the front lines. The title of Pillar is no longer mine. Just call me Jigoro Kuwajima from now on."

"Understood." Gyomei Himejima nodded, then pointed to Yu Luo, who was staring blankly at the ceiling, "This person wants to join the Demon Slayer Corps, but other Breathing Styles are best learned in childhood. After much thought, only Thunder Breathing relies on talent, so I hope you can train him."

As expected! Yu Luo wailed inwardly. He never imagined that the trainer Gyomei Himejima had mentioned, who was very suitable for him, would be this rigid and ill-tempered old man, and that he seemed to have already displeased him.

"This brat who talks nonsense and is so annoying?!" As Yu Luo had expected, upon hearing Gyomei Himejima's words, Jigoro Kuwajima immediately puffed out his beard and glared at the nonchalant Yu Luo, looking incredulous.

"Yes." Gyomei Himejima clasped his hands together, tears streaming down his face again, "When I met him, he was fighting an Oni to save these two young girls. It was truly moving."

Jigoro Kuwajima glanced at the Kocho sisters, who were nodding in agreement, then at Yu Luo, who was desperately trying to appear well-behaved to salvage his image. He remained silent, his face full of thought. The wooden hut fell into silence.

Time ticked by, and Yu Luo's heart grew colder. He finally abandoned the idea of joining the Demon Slayer Corps. At worst, I won't rely on the Demon Slayer Corps' power. I'll go kill the Demon King and the Twelve Kizuki myself. With Heroic Spirit Cards, I don't believe I can't complete this mission! Yu Luo thought fiercely.

"What is your name?" Jigoro Kuwajima's voice finally broke the silence in the wooden hut. Yu Luo was still lost in thought and didn't hear clearly, instinctively asking, "What?"

"I asked for your name!" Jigoro Kuwajima, angered by Yu Luo's absentmindedness, heavily tapped the floor and repeated himself.

Yu Luo finally heard clearly and immediately replied, "My name is Yu Luo!"

Jigoro Kuwajima glanced at Yu Luo's clothes and nodded, "A foreigner?" He then turned to Gyomei Himejima, who had clasped his hands together, and said, "Arrange for these two sisters first. Although this brat is annoying, I don't have any disciples." Jigoro Kuwajima paused, looked at the bewildered Yu Luo, and said with displeasure, "I'll take this brat."

"Then I shall take my leave." Gyomei Himejima clasped his hands together, bowed to Jigoro Kuwajima, and left. Jigoro Kuwajima did not try to stop them and directly escorted them to the door.

"Be careful on your way."

Gyomei Himejima nodded. Shinobu Kocho and Kanae Kocho, however, looked reluctant to part. Yu Luo had saved them from the Oni, and unknowingly, the sisters had begun to see Yu Luo as a friend.

"Yu Luo-kun, train hard!" Shinobu Kocho said to Yu Luo with childish wisdom, "When we pass the final selection, we'll meet again."

"Yu Luo-kun, take good care of yourself. Also, thank you for saving me and my sister." Kanae Kocho smiled gently at Yu Luo. Yu Luo playfully tapped each of the two girls, who didn't even reach his waist, on the head.

"Don't act like adults, I should be the one saying those things!" After saying that, Yu Luo also smiled and said to the sisters, "Remember to take good care of yourselves, and don't argue. You two are each other's only family, so you must love and help each other!"

"Got it! We're leaving now! Goodbye!"

"Goodbye!"

Yu Luo stood on the mountain path, waving his hand, watching the two small figures follow behind Gyomei Himejima, walking unsteadily on the mountain path. He felt a sense of emptiness. Perhaps from the moment he found them alive, he had already considered them friends or family.

Jigoro Kuwajima also stood by Yu Luo's side until the figures of the three disappeared. Only then did he sternly say, "My training is very strict. If you can't complete it, I won't go easy on you!"

"Ah? Is there any way to get stronger just by sleeping?" Yu Luo asked with a pained expression. Jigoro Kuwajima's mouth twitched, and the scar on his face looked even more ferocious. Seeing Yu Luo remain silent, Yu Luo nervously raised his hands and chuckled awkwardly, "Just kidding, just kidding!"

"Go chop the firewood behind the house, and then fill the water jug!" Jigoro Kuwajima showed no reaction to Yu Luo's playful demeanor. Instead, he sternly ordered Yu Luo, "I'll explain Breathing Styles to you tonight."

With that, Jigoro Kuwajima went down the mountain, doing who knows what. Yu Luo was left alone with a bitter expression, dejectedly walking towards the back of the house.

"No way!" Yu Luo looked at the pile of firewood in front of him, on the verge of collapse. It was stacked layer upon layer, reaching a height of a person. Beside it, on a tree stump, lay an axe gleaming with cold light.

"Stop your whining!" The System said contemptuously to Yu Luo, "This much? Are you even a man?!"

Yu Luo was so angered by the System that he laughed and retorted, "This much? Why don't you try it?"

"I won't try, I'm not a man." The System said righteously. Yu Luo was hesitant to speak, then finally spat lightly and walked forward, picked up the axe, placed a piece of firewood on the stump, and with a swift swing, the cold-gleaming axe cleanly split the firewood in two.

The good times didn't last long. At first, Yu Luo's movements were quite agile, but his stamina quickly depleted. Less than half of the firewood was chopped when Yu Luo's right arm felt weak, his waist ached unbearably, and his palms had already developed blisters. He managed to muster a bit of strength to lift the axe, but his right hand trembled uncontrollably, and the axe slipped from his grasp and fell to the ground.

"I can't do it, I can't do it anymore!" Yu Luo lay sprawled on the ground, breathing heavily. His clothes were soaked with sweat, and he wailed at the sky.

"Continue!" The System urged in Yu Luo's mind, "Think of the Kocho sisters' parents. You'll never get stronger if you continue like this. Do you want to see more people die because of your weakness?!"

"But I really have no strength left, my hands hurt so much, it's a piercing pain just to hold the axe!"

"Think of it this way," the System pondered, deciding to try a different approach to persuade Yu Luo, "If you don't continue, you can't join the Demon Slayer Corps, you can't complete the mission, you can't return to your original world, and you'll never see Mei, Kiana, and Bronya again. They'll be snatched away by normies one by one. Can you accept that?!"

As soon as it finished speaking, Yu Luo jumped up from the ground and picked up the axe that had fallen. "I feel like I'm full of energy again!"

"Crack!" Yu Luo trembled as he split the firewood in two, muttering, "One normie!"

"Smack!"

"Two normies!"

"Smack!"

"Normies must die! Awooo!"
