"Hey, Kiana, think of something!" On Sakura Avenue, Yu Luo was being dragged along by Kiana. A horde of Zombie Girls chased after them, howling as they charged their way. Yu Luo tucked his legs in and narrowly dodged the bamboo sword in Kendo Girl's hands again, shouting in despair.
"Don't distract me! I can't concentrate like this!" Kiana raised her other hand and fired two shots from her USP, dropping a Zombie Girl in a cheerleader uniform. She kicked her away, then continued fleeing for her life.
"You're the White-Haired Idiot! You always have a way!" Yu Luo's face turned green as he looked at the army of Zombie Girls behind them. He started yelling whatever came to mind.
"Even if you say that, I'm just an ordinary high school girl! What can I do?!" Kiana dodged a Motorcycle Girl speeding toward her on a bike and casually answered at the same time.
"An ordinary high school girl who carries two guns around?!" Yu Luo's urge to snark compelled him to risk his life making sarcastic remarks even at a time like this. "And where are the bullets in your guns coming from? Infinite ammo?!"
"How could that be, idiot teacher!" Kiana threw Yu Luo into the air, then nimbly leaped aside to dodge a rocket fired from behind. Riding the blast wave from its explosion, she sprinted forward some distance, caught Yu Luo by the collar just as he fell, and kept running, not forgetting to answer his complaint.
"Obviously, I looted them off these people!"
"What kind of bizarre girls' high school is this?! Arrows that explode, bamboo swords that kill people, riot shields, even biker gangs—and they actually carry bullets? Is this some interdimensional academy for training reincarnators?!"
"This is bad, there's no way through!" Kiana came to an abrupt stop. Yu Luo slammed straight into her back, his nose aching terribly. Hearing her words, he looked up and saw that the road ahead was completely blocked by collapsed buildings.
"Then what do we do?!" Yu Luo asked Kiana for advice without a clue of his own. He was unfamiliar with the place and did not even know the layout of the academy, so he could only rely on this White-Haired Idiot in front of him.
"We can only go through the school's back mountain." Kiana held her two guns and faced the oncoming zombie tide head-on, ready for battle. "Teacher Yu Luo, charge with me. Don't die!"
"Wait, give me something to defend myself with first!" Yu Luo shouted, but Kiana replied impatiently, "Find something yourself. I only have these two guns!"
With no other choice, Yu Luo scanned the surroundings for anything he could use as a weapon. In the end, he felt around on the ground, picked something up, and sighed. "No choice. I can only use one of the legendary Ten Great Divine Artifacts."
Hearing that, Kiana turned around curiously, wondering where an artifact could possibly be in this empty place. Then she saw Yu Luo's so-called artifact and nearly blew her top. "What kind of divine artifact is that?! It's just a brick!"
Yu Luo said solemnly, "Don't underestimate it. You can find it anywhere, it's easy to carry, its flat side deals double damage, its side deals critical damage, its edges deal lethal damage, and you can even throw it. What gives you the right to say it isn't a divine artifact?!"
"I see." The system in Yu Luo's mind looked as though it had suddenly understood. Then a notification rang in his head. "Ding. Mission [Arm Yourself] complete. Reward obtained: 1 Saint Quartz. 2,000 Friendship Points."
Yu Luo curled his lips into a grin, clearly very pleased that he had managed to fool the system. Then Kiana's voice sounded beside his ear. "I'll count one, two, three, then we charge together. Don't fall behind!"
Yu Luo nodded, putting away his frivolous smile as he stared seriously at the approaching horde of Zombie Girls.
"One!"
"Two!"
"Charge!"
Kiana sprang forward, launching herself straight into the horde of Zombie Girls. Yu Luo nearly threw out his back and shouted, "You said one, two, three! Where's three?!"
Still, not wanting to drag Kiana down, Yu Luo summoned every ounce of strength he had and barely kept up behind her. He viciously smashed the brick in his right hand into a Cheerleader Girl's head. The two of them fought their way through the Zombie Girls, beginning their breakout.
"Teacher Yu Luo, your stamina may not be great, but you're pretty skilled!" Kiana said when she had a moment after taking down a Penguin Girl blocking their path.
"Huff... huff... Well, I'm not an idiot, so of course my stamina can't compare to yours." Gasping for breath, Yu Luo raised the brick and used its edge to crack open the head of a charging Kendo Girl. He did not forget to take a jab at Kiana as he did. "Back in the day, I was the Double Flower Big Red Stick. With a brick in hand, I fought all the way from Causeway Bay to Tsim Sha Tsui. Even Chan Ho Nam would have had to come pay respects to me!"
"Who's Chan Ho Nam? Never heard of him!"
With Yu Luo unleashing every bit of his potential, the two of them somehow miraculously fought their way to the edge of the Zombie Girl horde. Only a thin layer remained before they could break out. "Hey, hey, isn't this supposed to be the heroine's script? Did I pick up the wrong script?" "Za Warudo!" As the system gave a cringingly dramatic shout in Yu Luo's mind, Yu Luo miraculously discovered that the Zombie Girls about to pounce on him had all frozen in place, as if time itself had stopped.
"So I'm a Stand User? You're my Stand?" Yu Luo said as if he had discovered a whole new world. The system replied in the tone one used on an idiot, "This only accelerated your thoughts several thousandfold, making everything outside appear several thousand times slower. It isn't time stop."
"Then why the hell did you yell Za Warudo? Do you have chuunibyou?!" Yu Luo's dream shattered, and he immediately cursed in irritation.
"What's wrong with chuunibyou? Chuunibyou protagonists can build harems, while you, a normal person, are still single!" The system landed a critical hit on Yu Luo's heart. Embarrassed and enraged, Yu Luo stopped bickering with it and said shamelessly, "Enough nonsense. I want to draw cards!"
The system immediately switched back to its former ingratiating expression. "Your most beloved system is at your service."
Yu Luo curled his lip. "How bright is the light when a four-star or five-star comes out?"
"About half of Changkong City would be able to see it."

"Only within a hundred-meter radius," the system answered eagerly, exceedingly considerate—though only because Yu Luo was about to spend something.
"I still have one free Friendship Ten-Pull and 2,000 Friendship Points. I'm using all of them." Yu Luo said calmly. The Friendship pool could not possibly contain cards above three stars. Given the current situation, an ordinary Heroic Spirit would be enough to help him escape this predicament. Besides, star rating did not represent actual strength.
