Jiang Ping'an slowed down and approached carefully.
It was a huge ruin half-buried in chaotic qi.
Broken walls and shattered ramparts lay in utter ruin, but one could still vaguely make out an extremely magnificent complex of buildings from ages past. Countless fragments were scattered throughout the ruins, and some still had faint divine light lingering on them.
Jiang Ping'an landed at the edge of the ruins and sent out his Spiritual Sense, but he found no aura of any living beings. He released Black Emperor. Black Emperor's nostrils flared, and he suddenly shouted excitedly, "To the left! There's treasure!"
Following Black Emperor's guidance, Jiang Ping'an arrived before a half-collapsed hall. Several ancient characters were carved on the lintel. He could not recognize them, but his intuition told him that this hall was anything but ordinary.
He pushed open the broken stone door and walked inside.
Deep within the hall, the remains of a god-devil sat cross-legged on a stone platform. Though it had been dead for who knew how many epochs, its flesh had not completely decayed, and a faint chaotic pressure still emanated from its body.
The god-devil held a stone box in both hands. The stone box was tightly shut, and there was no telling what was inside.
Jiang Ping'an walked up to the remains and bowed. "Senior, this junior has no intention of offending you. I only wish to take the stone box and have a look."
With that, he reached out to take the stone box. The instant his fingers touched it, a vast and evil will suddenly surged out from within like a flood bursting through a dam, charging straight into his Sea of Consciousness.
