After flying through the mist for most of an incense stick, Jiang Ping'an, Lan Yu, and Ye An'er found the Ginseng Dolls.
They were a group of two-foot-tall dolls, fair and tender, each with a small red flower atop its head. Their bodies shimmered with treasure light and emitted a rich medicinal fragrance that could be smelled from far away. If Ye An'er took a whiff, even her magical power increased by a trace.
At that moment, they were playing beneath a forest several acres wide.
"They're so cute!" Ye An'er cried, her heart nearly melting.
Jiang Ping'an smiled. "Go on. Catch a few and bring them back to the imperial palace to raise."
The moment he finished speaking, Ye An'er could no longer hold herself back. Her figure flashed as she swept forward like a light swallow. Clouds formed beneath their feet, and they moved at astonishing speed. They burrowed into the grass and tree hollows, vanishing without a trace, leaving only a thick medicinal fragrance all over the ground.
"Ah, they got away!" Ye An'er pounced at empty air and stamped her foot in frustration.
Lan Yu said, "An'er, these are Ten Thousand Year Ginseng Spirits. They are spiritually aware and skilled at escape; ordinary methods cannot easily catch them."
Jiang Ping'an stood with his hands behind his back, his gaze sweeping across the woods, the smile on his lips unchanged. "No matter. They cannot run far. They
