Background / History

Yanhuang Academy began as Lanba Advanced Spirit Master Academy, also called Blue Tyrant Academy. Founded by Liu Erlong, it served commoner spirit masters and already possessed facilities, teachers, and a student body, making it a desirable foundation for Xia Wuyou's own force in Tiandou City 1.

Xia Wuyou targeted the academy shortly after arriving in Tiandou City. He defeated Liu Erlong—despite both being Seven-Ring Spirit Saints—in a single exchange, then secured her agreement to transfer ownership by revealing Yu Xiaogang's location at Shrek Academy in Suotuo City 2 3.

Before taking control, Xia ordered Liu Erlong to remove every teacher and student affiliated with the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. Liu accepted, regarding the clan-connected personnel as surveillance placed by Yu Luomian, and convened the academy to announce the change in ownership 3 4.

By dusk, Xia had taken over the institution and renamed it Yanhuang Academy, invoking the Yanhuang heritage of his home world. More than half of the academy's teachers and students had been dismissed during the transition 5.

Administration and Operations

• Xia Wuyou — Dean and owner; took control of the academy after defeating Liu Erlong and receiving the transfer of ownership 3 5.
• Liu Erlong — Founder and former dean; handed the academy to Xia in exchange for information on Yu Xiaogang 3.
• Yinshu — Former academic director of Blue Tyrant Academy, retained in the same post under Xia's administration; a level 54 Attack-System Battle Soul King 5.
• Jiang Zhu — One of the academy's leading students; a nineteen-year-old level 35 Healing-System Soul Master with the Healing Scepter spirit. Xia identified her as talent worth investing in 5.

Grounds

The academy's back mountain lies against the Tiandou Mountain Range and an artificial forest. A stream runs before the academy, with flowers and grass along its banks 5.

External Relations

• Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect — Treated Yanhuang Academy as a neighboring force and sought friendly relations through hotel manager Ning Caichen. The sect offered Xia and Jiang Zhu free meals at the Seven Treasures Glazed Hotel and invited further contact between the two factions 7.
• Heaven Dou Imperial Family — Emperor Xue Ye ordered a grant of one million Gold Soul Coins and the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud to Yanhuang Academy, while arranging for Princess Xue Ke to study under Xia Wuyou 9.
• Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan — Clan-affiliated personnel were purged from the academy at Xia's command, ending their previous influence within the institution 3 4.
• Four Single-Attribute Clans — Became entangled with the academy after the Strength Clan attacked its gates. Bai Chenxiang accepted Xia's compensation terms on the clans' behalf to protect the remaining Strength Clan members 15 17 18.

Major Incidents

Strength Clan confrontation

Taino, Taitan, and Tailong of the Strength Clan came to Yanhuang Academy's gates to demand an explanation for Tailong's expulsion. Although Tailong had been dismissed by Liu Erlong before Xia's takeover, Taitan used the dispute to probe Xia's strength and seize his method of absorbing soul rings beyond his level 10 12.

Xia killed Tailong, Taino, and Taitan through spatial abilities at the academy entrance. Taitan's death and his threat that Yanhuang Academy would be buried with him drew widespread attention from Tiandou City's major factions 13 15.

Xia initially ordered Yinshu to demand an explanation from the Strength Clan or face annihilation. After Bai Chenxiang, Qin Ming, and Dugu Yan intervened, he agreed to spare the clan's elderly and children in exchange for the Speed Clan's Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng and the Breaking Clan's herbal knowledge and catalog 15 16 17.

Political attention

Xia's takeover of Yanhuang Academy rapidly drew scrutiny from the Heaven Dou royal family, Martial Soul Hall, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan 6 7 8.

Qian Renxue, acting as Crown Prince Xue Qinghe, visited the academy to investigate and recruit Xia. Ning Fengzhi likewise considered sending Ning Rongrong to Yanhuang Academy as part of a potential alliance with Xia 8 14.
