Background / History

Mo Lin arrives in the Dou Qi Continent with the ambition to gain enough power to become both a king and a protector. In the Magical Beast Mountain Range, he encounters the similarly displaced Snow Emperor and Ice Emperor. The Snow Emperor chooses to share memories with him, while both emperors become his earliest guides in understanding the continent's rules and cultivating Extreme Ice power 1 2.

He initially presents himself as a travelling rogue cultivator. After saving Xiao Yi Xian and her mercenary party from a second-tier Mo Beast, he enters Qingshan Town and begins establishing contacts useful to his rise. Under the Snow Emperor's instruction and the Ice Emperor's combative coaching, he rapidly stabilizes at One-star Dou Shi and develops his first ice-based techniques 2 3.

Mo Lin eliminates the Wolf Head Mercenary Group after deciding it is an “eyesore,” personally killing Mu She and later Mu Li. His ruthless handling of the group establishes both his reputation and his willingness to erase threats before they can retaliate 10 11.

In Stone Desert City, he rescues Xue Lan's team, earns the respect of the Desert Iron Mercenary Group, and meets Qing Lin. He accepts her mixed human–Snake People heritage without prejudice, tends to her scales, and promises to protect her.
