Background / History

Yao Yao was originally an infant protected by Old Ancestor Cang Xuan during an attack by three Sacred Clan figures. Cang Yuan later concealed both her and Tun Tun—the beast egg he had taken with her—from the Sacred Clan and from Saints who wished to refine her in pursuit of the Divine Realm 400 540.

She first encounters Mo Lin and Zi Yan in an ancient forest, accompanied by Tun Tun and living near Grandpa Hei. Yao Yao initially treats the newcomers as though they do not exist, maintaining a distant and inscrutable demeanor 364.

During her time in Great Zhou, Yao Yao recognizes Su Youwei's rare Yin Yang Qi Mansion and offers the Cold Nether True Scripture to balance its Yin attribute. Mo Lin's tailored Primordial Yin Yang Art impresses her despite her continued coolness toward him 369.

After displaying her True Realm Soul in the Sacred Relic Land, she receives an invitation to join Cang Xuan Sect's Soul Peak and becomes a prominent sect disciple. Her mastery of Spirit Patterns and Origin Runes soon earns widespread recognition 381 404 423.

Yao Yao is ambushed and injured by Wu Huang, Ye Ming, and four Eastern Profound Continent prodigies. Zuoqiu Qingyu rescues her, and the experience begins to turn their earlier discomfort into trust and mutual reliance 390 391.

At the Sacred Tower, Old Ancestor Cang Xuan reveals fragments of her past but refuses to fully explain the Sacred Clan's pursuit, citing dangerous karma. Yao Yao remains determined to learn her origin and thanks Cang Xuan for saving her life 400.

She later breaks the seal on her power to save Mo Lin from Palace Lord Shengyuan. The release severely damages her origin and pushes her body toward collapse, leaving her in deep sleep until Cang Yuan and Mo Lin obtain the Ancestral Dragon Lamp and Ancestral Dragon Flesh and Blood needed for her recovery 497 501 539.

Cang Yuan reveals during her awakening that Yao Yao is the Third Sequence God, born from the Ancestral Dragon's will and positioned alongside the Ancestral Dragon and Sacred God in the world's highest order of beings 540.
