City of Preservation - Belobog

"That's because you are in Belobog, humanity's last bastion," Gepard stopped and turned to explain to everyone.

"Last bastion?" March 7th asked in surprise.

Gepard paused, recalling the city's history. "Seven hundred years ago, monsters from beyond the stars, the Antimatter Legion, set the planet ablaze. The land became scorched earth, filled with molten lava and boiling smoke. Just as the planet's survival hung in the balance, a great frost descended—the sweeping cold wind arrived without warning, burying the invading legion. What remained was Belobog—"

"The last steadfast City Builders established this great city. Under the protection of The Preservation - Cripter, Belobog has been shielded from the wind and snow, maintaining a mild and pleasant climate forever." Gepard said with pride and a touch of intoxication. His slightly engrossed expression made everyone want to laugh.

"He's talking so weirdly~" March 7th commented, looking at the captivated Gepard.

"That's not his usual tone; he must be quoting from some ancient text," Dan Heng stated calmly.

"I get it, he's lost in his own world~" Theresa giggled.

"Um, but why is he telling us this?" March 7th curiously chimed in, unaware that Gepard had stopped reciting and was now glaring at them.

"Because you asked!" Gepard retorted, glaring at March 7th with dissatisfaction. Dan Heng closed his eyes, unable to watch, Stelle chuckled merrily, and Theresa smiled, enjoying the amusing scene. The Silvermane Guards, meanwhile, were suppressing their laughter but dared not laugh in front of Gepard.

"Oh, well..." March 7th awkwardly rubbed her head and smiled.

"So now you understand why Belobog is unaffected by the extreme external climate. It's thanks to the protection of the City Builders and the Amber King Cripter that the blizzards can only rage outside the city walls, allowing this city to shelter the last Flame of Life on this planet, and humanity's final bastion for survival."

"So, everyone, follow me to meet the Supreme Guardian. You currently do not have the freedom to act on your own." Gepard continued to lead them towards the Cripter Fortress, explaining as they went.

Everyone understood that as newcomers, it wasn't wise to antagonize the locals, as long as they didn't go too far. After all, the Stellaron Hunters were not to be trifled with. They followed Gepard, and he secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He wasn't confident about confronting these visitors from beyond the stars, especially Theresa. He felt completely on guard around her; the feeling of that flame made his hair stand on end. His keen intuition, honed from fighting World of Calamity monsters, told him that being burned by that peculiar flame would lead to a fate no better than the monsters that had turned to ash before.

"Garrison Officer Gepard, may we ask you a few questions out of curiosity?" Dan Heng inquired as they walked.

"As long as it doesn't involve core secrets or sensitive matters, feel free," Gepard replied while walking. The Silvermane Guards intentionally walked around the Stellaron Hunters, and everyone understood the need for caution given it was their first meeting. The Stellaron Hunters were also wary of the local powers, considering whether the Supreme Guardian would be reasonable or betray them.

"Those strange creatures we saw in the snowfields outside the city, they are from the corrupted World of Calamity, aren't they?" Dan Heng's question eased Gepard's tension, as this was not a secret.

"You know about them? That's understandable. You're from beyond the stars and have more experience than us."

"Yes, they are all from the corrupted World of Calamity. Not only that, but there are many other threats. The monsters you saw are just one type; among those World of Calamity monsters, there are many more troublesome high-level existences."

"For example, World of Calamity elemental life forms composed entirely of flames or ice. It is said that a long time ago, there were other attributes, but fortunately, only fire and ice remain now."

"The increase in casualties among the Silvermane Guard due to these mutated elemental World of Calamity monsters has become a significant problem for us," Gepard said helplessly. March 7th asked, puzzled.

"They are humanity's saviors. Long before the cold wave arrived, they endured the world's misunderstanding and ridicule to build towns here. History has proven their choice was undoubtedly correct."

"And the City Builders named this fortress after The Preservation - Cripter. Under their guidance, humanity repelled enemy assaults and held back the invading cold wave. Even now, this city stands against the incursions from the World of Calamity."

Gepard explained the contributions of the City Builders to everyone, his expression filled with immense reverence. The others listened politely to his account.
