Half a day after Fu Hua left, Siegfried slowly emerged from the restroom.
"Xu Yanwu, that girl just now... she was the one who stayed by Kiana's side, right?"
Siegfried asked.
"Yeah, that's right." Xu Yanwu nodded, wiping the alcohol from his face with a tissue.
"She didn't seem that hot-tempered. Do you... know her?"
You could say we knew each other... We were old friends." Xu Yanwu glanced at Siegfried. "You probably don't know this, but she was there during the Second Honkai War too."
"The Second Honkai War?" Siegfried froze. "Wasn't that over a decade ago? She should have only been a child back then, shouldn't she?"
"A child? Didn't Cheng Lixue tell you that she had a master? And that her master never showed herself?" Xu Yanwu tossed the used tissue into the trash.
"In front of her, you don't even count as a child... How do you think Sirin was severely wounded the first time?" Xu Yanwu said.
"That's impossible. If that were true, why didn't I know about her when I was in Schicksal?"
"It's normal that you didn't know. She could be considered... Schicksal's secret weapon. Though she was badly injured and wasn't as strong as before." Xu Yanwu gave Siegfried a sidelong glance. "She could still take you down with her."
"?!"
Siegfried was startled.
"Did you two have some kind of conflict?"
Siegfried asked.
"No?" Xu Yanwu looked as though the idea was absurd. "How could I possibly have a conflict with her? We're old friends!"
"Then why were you pinned against the counter just now and had alcohol splashed all over your face...?"
"That was just because of how things were. I couldn't let her recognize my original identity, could I? She'd misunderstand."
Xu Yanwu said, "Let's not talk about that."
