The Artificial Deity clad in armor, the humanoid Pokémon known as Mewtwo, remained silent and offered no defense.
Mr. R raised an eyebrow but did not continue his questioning.
Anything useless or incompetent only needed to be drained of its value before being discarded.
But Mewtwo was different.
It was his most satisfying creation. Though there had once been plenty of unpleasantness between them, ever since it had submitted to his control and fallen into darkness, it had become his sharpest spear and shield.
That suit of armor was no longer a restraint that weakened it, but a comprehensive enhancement of its power.
He slowly rose to his feet and walked toward the locations of the only three valuable items in this seemingly vast and empty laboratory.
The first was GT-000, the original model: Genesect Unit Zero. Unlike the other Genesect specimens, it had a red exterior, and its exceptional adaptability allowed its performance to far surpass that of the others after more intensive mechanical modification.
The second was a Pokémon—or rather, the Ultra Beast Cosmoem. Safely suspended at the center of a cultivation tank using anti-gravity technology developed from Mewtwo, it had an outer shell that looked like it was composed of nine yellow pieces. A nebula-like layer wrapped around its sleeping core. It had once been codenamed Star Child, but was now codenamed Cocoon of Stars.
The third was a meteorite from outer space, housing a dormant extraterrestrial cosmic viral life-form. Its true nature was the Pokémon known as Deoxys. Unfortunately, its core was severely damaged, and recovery would require an extremely long time.
Now, after being modified by Armored Mewtwo, the meteorite was transmitting signals into the starry sky, drawing its kin here.
