He woke up in the soft, comfortable bed at the Mawile Hotel.
Even in his dreams last night, he could still hear that voice, but each time he woke up, the memory became blurred.
After gradually getting used to it, it no longer bothered him much.
Covered by a fleece blanket, Su Hao lay on the bed and fumbled around on the bedside table.
"Ah, found them!" After feeling around for quite some time, he picked up two small spheres and enlarged them.
Two entirely black Poké Balls, aside from their twin gold-plated rings, appeared in Su Hao's hands.
Luxury Balls. Their high price bought a luxurious interior space, said to provide comfort suited to any Pokémon.
When traveling outside, it was inconvenient to bring Carbink and Incineroar's little beds along. When he saw the Luxury Balls on a vendor's cart, he had an idea and bought six of them.
After returning to the hotel, he released Carbink and Incineroar and replaced their Poké Balls.
After trying the Luxury Ball, Carbink told him that the space inside was extremely comfortable, and that a stream of energy continuously restored her stamina.
Incineroar's answer was even simpler: the moment he went inside, he wanted to sleep!
With Luxury Balls, Carbink and Incineroar could have a comfortable place to rest even in the wilderness.
Leaving the Mawile Hotel, Su Hao walked out of Baohe City.
Once he reached the wilderness, Su Hao planned to travel to Shuizhou City on foot.
This time in the wild would be perfect for training and battles.
If he encountered Pokémon he was meant to meet, he could catch them too!
After deciding to challenge Gyms, he had looked up Gym Battles on the forums. At minimum, they were 3v3 Pokémon Battles, while a few double-battle Gyms required four Pokémon.
Su Hao released both Carbink and Incineroar from their Poké Balls.
Since Pokémon could attack at any time in the wilderness, they could not afford to lower their guard.
A long river ran along the route from Baohe City to Shuizhou City. Following it downstream would lead them to Shuizhou City, a metropolis surrounded by seawater.
The river began in Baohe City, passed through the waterways within Shuizhou City, and eventually flowed into the sea.
Because it connected to the ocean, quite a few Pokémon from the sea swam into the river.
At that moment, one such Pokémon blocked Su Hao's path.
Pokémon: [Tentacruel] Type: [Water-type + Poison] Gender: [♂] Ability: [Rain Dish] (slowly restores stamina on rainy days) Level: [35] Moves: [Poison Sting, Water Gun, Acid, Wrap, Bubble Beam...]
Oh, it was even a Tentacruel with its Hidden Ability~.
With Early Elite Level strength, it was probably a minor overlord in this river.
If a Normal Level Pokémon's output was like a bullet, then an Elite Level Pokémon's attacks were like cannon fire.
"Which of you two is going?"
Carbink and Incineroar looked at each other. After a brief stare-down, Carbink volunteered!
"Gulu gulu!"
Tentacruel had a blue head, with two large and one small red agate-like objects on top.
Its eyes were located on the lower black portion of its body, where blue pincer-like appendages grew. Its tentacles were poisonous as well.
At that moment, the Tentacruel blocking the path on land directly unleashed Poison Sting.
Tiny needles formed from Poison-type energy rained down toward Su Hao like anti-aircraft shells.
"Dazzling Gleam!"
Facing the falling Poison Stings, Carbink spread out a Dazzling Gleam barrier.
The expanding Dazzling Gleam blocked every Poison Sting.
Once the Poison Stings were dealt with, Tentacruel's next wave of attacks had already begun gathering.
A rainbow-colored beam continuously condensed before Tentacruel's clasped tentacles.
It should be Aurora Beam!
Su Hao made his judgment based on Tentacruel's move.
As the saying went, fight magic with magic. Since Tentacruel was using a beam move, they would answer with beam moves too!
"Carbink, prepare Meteor Beam!"
"Incineroar, use Flamethrower to block Aurora Beam!"
To him, there was no need to insist on one-on-one battles in the wilderness. If two against one gave them an advantage, why not use it?
The flames Incineroar spewed completely canceled out Aurora Beam. Soon after, Carbink's Meteor Beam tore through the center of the explosion and blasted Tentacruel directly.
The struck Tentacruel was left covered in wounds after just one move. After staring at Su Hao for a moment, it immediately turned and fled!
It was his first time seeing a Pokémon as spineless as Tentacruel, though he could understand it. In the wilderness, being Out of Battle meant losing the ability to move and becoming at others' mercy.
Since Tentacruel had already run off, it was time to continue onward.
A few more Pokémon appeared to block their path afterward, but their overall strength was only at the Elite Level. They did not encounter anything especially powerful.
Carbink and Incineroar dealt with those Pokémon as well, and every one of them turned to flee when they were nearly Out of Battle.
After defeating several wild Pokémon, Incineroar reached Level 26, moving one step closer to his final evolution.
Although Carbink's level had not increased yet, her strength continued to improve under the Pokémon Candy Su Hao exchanged from the system.
When night fell, he found a stretch of high, level ground and took a camping tent from his Space Backpack to set up camp.
Su Hao, Carbink, and Incineroar took turns keeping watch that night. Nothing unexpected happened, and the night passed peacefully.
Within the Spiral Secret Realm, two uninvited guests entered the giant tower once again.
Looking at the screen before him, the short figure in a hood said in surprise, "A few days ago, the machine we installed in the tower detected an intense energy fluctuation. Could that record be real?"
Looking at the values on the tiny machine's display, the tall figure with the exceptionally hoarse voice said, "Yes. The output peak directly reached Champion to Master Level."
"Can we find records of any unusual changes here in recent days?"
"Only that a few days ago, the giant tower shook for a while, as though there had been an Earthquake."
"Tch, is this informant even reliable?" The short figure curled his lip.
"The informant provided entry and exit records for the Secret Realm over the past several days. Shall we investigate?"
"Of course we investigate. Since our New Star Organization began its operations, we've gone to every Secret Realm without getting any results. This is the only place where something has changed."
"Besides, those mad dogs from the Divine Land Alliance have already wiped out quite a few of our outer members. If we still fail to accomplish anything, those above may blame us." The short figure shuddered, seemingly recalling something terrifying.
