Arc 41The Sundial Tournament

Su Hao returned to the Pokémon world, reunited with Cynthia and Steven, and registered for the Pokémon World Championships after learning its winner could claim an ancient stone tablet fragment. He reached Anistar City to compete, where the lowest-ranked entrant Su Hao was assigned a top-five opponent for his first match.

  • Su Hao and Leafeon entered Kartana’s valley, where Leafeon studied Kartana’s swordsmanship for over a month and developed a rapid finishing slash of its own.
  • Kartana opened an Ultra Wormhole for Su Hao and his companions, who emerged in Alola and encountered Cynthia and the Ultra Guardians.

Su Hao helped Diancie claim the Giant Sundial’s power, then worked with Little Soft and Greninja to strengthen his Pokémon and clear Kalos’s giant plants. He traveled to Galar for a battle with Opal, where Zeraora faced Mawile.

  • Su Hao defeated Shota’s Mega Sceptile with Ogerpon, then beat Alain’s Mega Charizard X with Dragapult and won the Anistar Conference.
  • Olympia brought Su Hao to the Giant Sundial, where it entered Diancie and raised her to Champion Level before Z2 attacked them.
  • Little Soft intervened against Z2, then helped Diancie recover and negotiated with Su Hao to strengthen Diancie and Incineroar’s auras in exchange for his help clearing giant plants.

Arc 43The Darkest Day Stirs

Su Hao defeated Opal and Dande, then traveled through Galar to reunite Calyrex with its steeds and learn that Nihilego threatened to awaken the Darkest Day. As Gigantamax outbreaks spread through Crown Snowfield, Su Hao prepared to reforge the Rusted Sword and Shield before confronting the crisis.

  • Su Hao defeated Opal’s Mawile, Togekiss, and Gigantamax Alcremie, then battled Dande’s Gigantamax Iron Hands and won with Incineroar.
  • Su Hao learned from Zacian and Zamazenta that Nihilego had shattered their weapons, and agreed to carry the Rusted Sword and Shield to Calyrex.

  • Lusamine arranged delivery of materials to Crown Snowfield, where Magearna awakened Sword and Shield and they chose Leafeon and Ogerpon as their partners.
  • Nihilego escaped in Hammerlocke and attacked Rose, Dande, and the stadium until Su Hao and Calyrex subdued it, and Reshiram sealed it away from Galar particles.
