Sure enough, it was hard to hide the fact that the original body was male. Normally, as a student in Class B, teachers from other classes had no reason to come investigate his gender. But now it was different—the word "Male" written large on his UA application left every teacher stunned on the spot.
"Can't hide it after all..."
Accepting the truth, Su Lin sighed. He stopped concealing it and, right in front of a crowd of students, slowly transformed back into his original form.
When the seamlessly natural young man's appearance emerged, most of the people present were left speechless.
The teacher let out a strange laugh: "I'm just curious—why don't you show yourself in your original form?"
"Training my Quirk, of course. My ability is Clones. As you can see, besides splitting off bodies, I can also change directly into that form like a Stand. Different clones have different abilities. The one you usually see is good at studying and has a clearer mind. She's not a combat type, so she can't show too much fighting power."
The teachers sitting before him all took a deep breath. Clearly, Su Lin's answer still carried some impact.
"And the other clones?"
Su Lin clicked his tongue. His body began to change, quickly turning into Mysterious Heroine X. Then, in front of everyone, she raised her longsword and swung it toward the sky.
Vwoom—
A terrifying blast of air mixed with a sonic boom shot into the sky.
The sheer force was terrifying, undoubtedly proving her strength, and left the teachers present dead silent.
......
"Wait!"
In the strange silence, a unfamiliar male student frantically raised his hand: "Are you saying that guy just now—that's your real body, right?"
"That's right." X-Hair nodded.
"No... no!" The boy seemed unable to accept reality. He suddenly clutched his head and thudded to the ground. "Impossible, impossible. I clearly liked you so much, liked you for so long."
His voice cut off mid-shout. The confusion on his face gave way to a flash of determination: "It's okay. I like you. I want to confess to you—"
"Go die!"
Before he could finish, X-Hair angrily swung her weapon, whipping up a fierce blast of air that sent him flying on the spot.
Chapter 6: Entrance Exam
That school incident was just a small episode. Since it was his last time here anyway, Su Lin didn't care what anyone thought.
His Quirk unquestionably qualified him to apply, and with his written exam score being the highest in the entire grade, getting into UA was still possible.
......
Time flew by in a blink. The next day arrived—February 26th.
UA High School, Hero Course, Exam Briefing Venue.
"So many new faces."
Maybe because there were too many seats, Su Lin couldn't spot any of the main characters from the anime for now. Most of the people here were probably extras—either eliminated in the exam or assigned to other classes, not worth paying attention to.
"So nervous, so nervous."
Torhu Hagakure, sitting next to him, curled up and kept repeating that phrase.
Just then, the lights in the venue flickered on one by one. A man with an exaggerated pompadour and yellow glasses stood on a distant platform, spread his arms, and let out an energetic shout:
"Examinees, welcome to my live show today! Everybody say Hey!"
Just like in the story, Present Mic explained the rules: students were divided into seven Exam Venues—A through G. Each venue had three types of Fake Enemies in large numbers. Based on their difficulty, they were worth 1, 2, or 3 points. Examinees had to defeat the corresponding Fake Enemies to earn points and meet the admission standard.
There was also a single 0-point Fake Enemy, designed to interfere with examinees. It was powerful, and defeating it was useless, so running away at first sight was the best option.
As Su Lin expected, during the rule explanation, that earnest Iida guy caused a scene and publicly called out Izuku Midoriya.
"No change in the Worldline."
Su Lin sighed at that. He just wondered if getting involved in the main storyline later would alter future developments.
While he was zoning out, Torhu Hagakure leaned over and whispered: "Su Lin-kun, which venue are you in? Are we together?"
"Let me check."
Su Lin picked up the small card in his hand and glanced at the contents: Exam Venue B.
"I'm in A. Not together, too bad." Torhu Hagakure's voice carried some disappointment.
But the next second, she noticed something off about Su Lin's expression.
He was completely frozen, staring intently at the character card in his hand.
Name: Su Lin
Gender: Female
......
Female!
Female!!
emmm......
"Gan lin niang!"
Su Lin couldn't help cursing out loud, leaving Torhu Hagakure beside him utterly bewildered.
"Hey, the student sitting in the corner—don't use foul language in public. What are you looking at? Yes, I'm talking to you!" Present Mic on the podium suddenly pointed a finger at the frantic Su Lin.
"Ahem, sorry."
He thought about raising the issue and calling out U.A.'s oversight, but with so many people watching, he held back and swallowed it.
"Pfft." Torhu Hagakure caught sight of the gender listed above and couldn't stifle a laugh.
"..."
Half an hour later, Exercise Ground B.
"So huge."
Sure enough, the real-life scene was far more spectacular than in the anime—even the gate alone was this grand.
Su Lin stepped forward a few paces and happened to spot Izuku Midoriya standing behind the crowd.
If he remembered correctly, this guy had just inherited All Might's Quirk today, and his body still couldn't handle the pressure of ONE.FOR.ALL. Basically, using it once would wreck his arm.
"Still, this cowering look is pretty embarrassing." Su Lin twitched the corner of his mouth and decided to go say hello.
"Hey, Izuku Midoriya."
He tapped the green-haired boy on the shoulder from behind. The kid jumped in fright, stepping back with a horrified look. "Who are you?"
"I..."
It suddenly hit him that the other person didn't recognize him in his male form. So while everyone was focused on the exercise ground, Su Lin activated his clone and transformed into Yukino right in front of him.
"Recognize me now?"
His voice shifted into a pleasant girl's tone.
"Huh? Huh... Eh? It's you?!"
Izuku Midoriya froze for two seconds, his face instantly turning bright red. He covered his mouth in panic.
He remembered—this was the girl who trained every day at Seaside Park. Her figure had left a deep impression on him. Whenever he couldn't hold on and wanted to give up, just thinking about her desperate effort would reignite his courage.
"This guy... his face is that red."
Su Lin awkwardly stepped back half a pace. He liked this passionate protagonist, but that look in his eyes was really annoying.
"I just came to say hi. Hope you pass the assessment easily." Su Lin hesitated, then tossed out a casual remark. Without giving the other a chance to reply, he turned and walked away.
All that was left was a dazed Midoriya.
"It's her? She talked to me?"
But soon, his attention was drawn to another girl standing not far away—Ochaco Uraraka.
"Start!"
Just then, Present Mic's wild voice rang out from the distant tower. "What's wrong? Real combat won't give you a countdown to prepare. Move it, move it—the match has already started!"
At that reminder, the students who had been lounging around were mostly startled and bolted toward the streets of the competition venue.
"Time for me to go too."
Su Lin was unexpectedly a bit nervous. He glanced back at Midoriya, who was still spacing out. Without waiting any longer, he bent his legs and dashed forward lightly.
"All that training wasn't wasted."
Yukino's speed was already decent, but compared to those using their Quirks, she still seemed a bit lacking.
"X-Hair."
Taking advantage of no one watching, Su Lin split off Mysterious Heroine X. While controlling Yukino to slow her pace, he had X-Hair charge at terrifying speed toward a target a hundred meters away.
"Die!"
The weapon swung. A shockwave slashed down from dozens of meters away, effortlessly cleaving the massive green machine in two.
1 point gained.
"So strong."
He couldn't quite describe it. When controlling X-Hair in battle, he could clearly feel the superiority of this body—effortlessly unleashing power beyond ordinary reach, instantly blowing apart the giant machine.
Unfortunately, in his current state, he could only maintain her for five minutes.
"Gotta hurry."
Watching different students take down targets with their various Quirks, Su Lin took a deep breath.
"Accelerate."
Boom!
X-Hair pushed off with her legs. Her delicate frame vanished from the spot in an instant, shooting deeper into the street at terrifying speed.
"Saber!"
He habitually blurted out a murderous phrase, and before the 3-point Fake Enemy that had just charged out of the street could even turn around, it was blasted into fragments by a shockwave.
Chapter 7: The Mechanism
"Done."
After blowing up the target, X-Hair looked around and found nothing but scrap metal everywhere. The other students had already eliminated the nearby Fake Enemies and were advancing toward farther targets.
"You've got to be kidding me—am I the slowest one?"
Though she'd stylishly sliced through two targets, she also realized her control over this body wasn't very smooth yet. Her immense power slipped out of grasp if she wasn't careful, causing the aftermath of her attacks to damage the surroundings.
And this entrance exam didn't allow students to harm each other.
"What a pain."
X-Hair quickened her pace and dashed toward a more distant street.
A few hundred meters away, the main body, now transformed into Yukino, jogged leisurely.
Arriving at a certain intersection, a green-haired boy burst out from a side street.
"Points! Points! I need points!" His voice was frantic.
"Midoriya?" Seeing this protagonist, Su Lin curled his lips in exasperation.
Having just inherited his Quirk, the poor kid couldn't use it properly yet. The ten months of training with All Might had only barely allowed him to withstand ONE.FOR.ALL; mastering it for sustained use would still be a challenge.
The moment they met, Izuku Midoriya's eyes went wide. "You again?"
"Midoriya, keep it up," Su Lin said, not wanting to cost him his chance at admission because of her. She raised her fist and called out to him.
Without another word, she immediately turned Yukino's body and ran off in the opposite direction.
But then—
Boom!
