The fourth iron nail fell in the blink of an eye.
Ji Li could no longer fend off this fourth nail. Inside the cramped coffin, he forced his right arm beneath his body, drew a deep breath, suppressed the excruciating pain, and violently twisted himself around.

The pain of that instant was even more horrifying than the earlier tearing injury. Despite all his mental preparation, it still nearly made Ji Li pass out.
But he had little time to recover. The fourth iron nail, mere inches above his head, had already revealed its sharp tip amid the increasingly scarlet light filling his vision.
Ji Li shakily extended his left hand. The fingers of his leather-gloved hand trembled as they reached into his torn arm, dug through the mangled flesh, and pinched the broken bone.
The red light flashed faster and faster, growing brighter with every flash, until it illuminated the entire coffin, leaving almost no space untouched.
The tugging of the evil spirit kept Ji Li cruelly conscious beneath the ravages of pain. Even through his glove, he could distinctly feel the grotesque sensation of digging out his own bone.
His eyes remained fixed on the tip of the iron nail protruding above his head. Its rust, the same color as the evil spirit but darker, was aimed at his left hand—the only one he could still move.
There was no time. No time!
Ji Li felt as though his neatly aligned teeth were crushing into his gums from how hard he clenched them against the pain. Blood, metallic and sweet, spilled from the corner of his mouth, and he dared not even groan.
Thud!
The iron nail
