The taxi stopped before the broad, imposing school gate. The driver craned his head out and glanced at the academy, where the lights were still on. Though the place was brilliantly lit, he was still somewhat wary of the "story" Yu Guo had told him.

Ji Li pulled out a hundred-yuan bill, did not wait for change, and got out of the car.

Before them stood a school gate brimming with artistic flair, its six sweeping characters spelling out the academy's name.

Universities were lively places, after all. Though it was nearly midnight, people still streamed in and out through the gate. Countless young men and women passed Ji Li and Yu Guo, chatting and laughing.

Ji Li stood at the entrance with his hands behind his back, his gaze passing through the gate toward the academy buildings ablaze with human lights. He was somewhat doubtful.

His first impression was that this did not look like a place haunted by ghosts.

Yu Guo stopped beside him, rubbed his stiff face, and said softly:

"Over the past year, I came here several times, but the only victims I found were A Lian, the female teacher, and the academic affairs teacher.

"Perhaps there were other victims, but the ghost's powerful ability to erase traces had interfered, leaving no way to investigate them further."

Ji Li nodded, glanced at the young people brushing past them, and said:

"Perhaps it's because of that ghost's special ability. Even if everyone in this school died, it wouldn't stir up the slightest disturbance."

To be honest, Ji Li had not expected Yu Guo's matter to be this troublesome. Still, he believed that he and Yu Guo could now be considered employees of Tianhai Hotel.
