"Boom!"

Just as Yu Guo and Ji Li stood there in a daze, the glass in both windows of Room 1307 shattered in an instant.

Countless shards flew in every direction like knives. This was far more violent—and much more dangerous—than the earlier shattering of a single mirror.

A broad pane of window glass slammed hard into Ji Li's back, making him stagger.

Yu Guo also began wildly swinging the backpack in his hands, trying to ward off the threat of the flying shards.

Only then did Ji Li tear himself free from that dazed feeling. With a single stride, he grabbed Yu Guo by the arm and dashed toward the entrance!

When his body crashed into the door, he had expected to encounter some kind of resistance. Unexpectedly, everything went smoothly. Aside from shattering the glass, the ghost seemed to have no intention of making things difficult for them.

The two of them began sprinting down the corridor on the Thirteenth Floor, fleeing at top speed and doing everything they could to leave this ominous place.

As he ran, Ji Li repeatedly glanced back. Nothing was chasing them, and he could not sense any threat from supernatural power. This made him even more certain that the earlier disturbance had merely been the ghost forcing them to leave.

If it had intended to kill them, they would have died several times over by now.

That made him think of the small words that had appeared on the mirror. They had probably come from the ghostly creature itself.

Yu Guo ran while turning his head toward Ji Li. He hurriedly said, "We came a season early. Could that mean..."

Ji Li raised a hand and wiped the scratches on his face before replying softly:
