On the Tenth Floor, in the pitch-black corridor, only one of the fifteen doors stood open.
Blood-red footprints spread out from there, stained with dust as they formed a road leading to death.
Fang Shenyan and Clyde stood to either side, quietly listening to the footsteps as they gradually approached.
Breathing and heartbeats came from within.
A living person seemed to be waiting behind the door for them to save her.
Sweat unconsciously beaded in Clyde's palms. He found it difficult to breathe and instinctively took a deep breath.
For some reason, walking through this place made him feel as though something strange was happening to his body.
By all logic, he had experienced situations like this countless times before. Why was he so nervous now?
Fang Shenyan sensed that something was wrong with him as well. He stopped and asked,
"What's wrong with you?"
Clyde could clearly hear his own heartbeat. He raised his pale face and whispered,
"I think something's wrong. I feel like I'm getting weaker."
Weaker...
Fang Shenyan squeezed the back of his hand. They had been moving at the same pace, yet he himself felt no discomfort whatsoever.
He carefully examined Clyde's face and found that his cheeks were covered in cold sweat, his steps unsteady, as though he were seriously ill.
This did not look like an attack by an Evil Spirit. It was more like the aftereffects of using a Sin Object.
But Clyde had not used a Sin Object from beginning to end. How could this be happening?
Fang Shenyan frowned and looked through the darkness toward 1015, the final room on the Tenth Floor.
"If you can't go on, get out. I'll handle this myself."
He shoved Clyde. Evil Spirits could create avatars, so there was no such thing as dying
