Ailin remained unaware of Kiritsugu’s gains and began his planned battle with Gilgamesh by trapping him inside Unlimited Blade Works.

• Kirei Kotomine examined Rizei Kotomine’s body, realized Kiritsugu had taken the Command Spells stored on his arm, and asked Gilgamesh whether he could still defeat Saber and Berserker if Saber were strengthened.
• Artoria arrived at Kiritsugu’s location, where Kiritsugu showed her more than twenty Command Spells and asked whether she could win the Holy Grail for him and grant his wish for world peace.
• At Matou Residence, Ailin considered how to fight Gilgamesh, remained unaware that Kiritsugu possessed the Command Spells, and accompanied Kariya Matou and Sakura Matou while they handled Sakura’s school enrollment.
• That night, Ailin flew toward the church to confront Gilgamesh, who attacked him with Noble Phantasms from the Gate of Babylon.

Ailin unleashed his named Zanpakuto’s power to defeat him, then returned to Soul Society with Hollow Ailin’s spiritual pressure and began catching up on Fifth Division paperwork while Momo Hinamori remained trapped in the Dangai.

• Hollow Ailin materialized Gilgamesh and the other five Servants from the Holy Grail, and Gilgamesh’s Ea clashed with Ailin’s Ea.

The returning captains learned how Inaba Kagerōza’s Reikaku had taken over the Seireitei while Yamamoto was trapped in the Dangai, and Mayuri confirmed that Ailin had destroyed the copies inside the city. Yamamoto sent Ailin and Ukitake to imprison Aizen in Mugen Jigoku, then dismissed the captains to prepare for further battles and brought the Visored to the First Division pending a decision.

• Ailin and Ukitake took the sealed Aizen to Mugen Jigoku on Yamamoto’s orders.
• Yamamoto asked Byakuya why he could not sense Rukia, and Byakuya explained that Reikaku had occupied the Seireitei while Yamamoto was trapped in the Dangai for two weeks.

• Ailin and Jūshirō Ukitake entered Mugen Jigoku with Aizen’s sealed restraints and encountered Souya Jōshirō inside.
• Souya Jōshirō explained that he had trained outside Bankai for decades and had reached Captain-level strength without releasing it.

• Reikaku Renji Abarai damaged the Twelfth Division’s metal defenses with Baboon Bone Cannon, allowing Reikaku Vice-Captain Chōjirō’s lightning to injure the division’s Seated Officers.
• Rukia and Urahara Kisuke joined the battle, and Urahara took Ichigo Kurosaki to Inaba Kagerōza’s laboratory to use his collected spiritual pressure in the Reikaku-making machine.
