"Different? How is it different?" Vivian glanced up at Hao Ren. "Because the one in front of us is a juvenile?"
"It's not just a juvenile." Hao Ren looked at the surrounding tentacles and remains of biological tissue. "The Firstborn we saw in the Dream Plane was closer to some kind of plant, and it had already precisely differentiated various functions—the forests on the surface, the tentacles in the rock layers, the 'heart' buried underground, and all kinds of nerve ganglia. But this one looks like it hasn't fully evolved yet. It feels more like an embryo."
Nangong May added from the side, "And how this thing came from the Dream Plane to this world is another major problem."
Hao Ren raised his head and looked around the hall. This was the central hub of the spacecraft, and many passages could be seen around them, though no one knew where they led. The Firstborn's tentacles spread through those passages, so they could probably find some of its organs elsewhere as well. After thinking it over, he decided to split up and search separately. "Let's split up. That'll be more efficient. If anyone finds anything, contact the others immediately."
No one objected. They divided into groups: Lily and Hao Ren, Izax, his daughter, and Lanina, and Vivian and Nangong May. After going through the rigorous procedures of guessing coins, playing rock-paper-scissors, and spinning a stick, they determined three directions and left the hall separately.
Lily held Fire's Very Happy and cheerfully led the way. Now that her playful side had emerged, she wasn't timid at all. Hao Ren followed behind the Husky Girl, carefully keeping watch over their surroundings as they advanced. After leaving the hall, they had explored quite a long distance and discovered several empty compartments along the way.
