The water tower stood beside the pumping station, surrounded by wasteland. It had the most traditional design from many years ago: a tall concrete tower rising straight up, with a large storage tank mounted on top. When Hao Ren was young and fond of courting death, he had once climbed up the iron ladder on the outside of the tower. Now, whenever he remembered how mischievous he had been back then, he found it unbelievable. Apparently, there was a reason he had ended up raising a fish that courted death every day. It was called karma.
When they arrived, there was no one guarding the water tower. Lily quickly circled the concrete outer wall and immediately discovered something unusual. The same sort of water flowing upward against gravity could be seen here, and in some inconspicuous corners, wispy streams of water were even floating in midair. If this place had not been desolate and remote, and if the workers inspecting the tower had not focused on the tank and pipes instead of the corners, these phenomena would probably have attracted people from the Chinese Academy of Sciences long ago.
Hao Ren was simply glad he had decided to come here. The evidence proved that there really were supernatural phenomena here!
"Sure enough, I can sense the aura of my kind..." Nangong May carefully sensed the surroundings, then finally widened her eyes. "How did a Siren end up here?!"
Hao Ren was overjoyed when he heard that. He had wanted to meet a normal Siren for ages. The mysterious underwater city in the deep sea remained a huge mystery that he could not stop thinking about, as well as the key to deciphering the paranormal phenomena on Earth. However, Nangong May could not help him with that, while normal Sirens never
