Rift Nebula.

Those living on Purgatory Planet who looked up at the night sky saw a strange starry sky rarely visible anywhere else in the universe. Most of the celestial bodies they saw here were hazy, because the spatial clouds of the Rift Nebula and the gravitational distortions around the Great Rift interfered with starlight from the depths of space. The largest and clearest cosmic spectacle visible to them was the Great Rift at the center of those hazy stars. The rift lay at the very heart of the nebula. From Purgatory Planet, it looked like a slightly deformed eyeball. Endless chaotic light churned at the center of the "eyeball," while a ring of radial spatial rifts had surrounded it year-round.

For a long time afterward, the Sun People and the Twilight Remnants would reverently call this enormous cosmic rift the "Eye of the World Watcher." Some of them believed that the rift was the eye through which a god watched over the universe, and that this eye maintained the balance between the two worlds.

In a sense, their faith had not been entirely baseless—because during the construction of the gate, Hao Ren had indeed installed tens of thousands of listening devices in the "Storm Eye" of the Rift Nebula. These devices were used to monitor the state of the Wall of Reality.

The Storm Eye, or rather the Great Rift, was an enormous hollow spanning the core of the Rift Nebula. This "hollow" was difficult to describe using ordinary physical terminology. It could only be broadly understood as a "gradual fusion-penetration" produced when the laws of two universes merged. At the edge of the hollow, the conflict between the laws of the two universes was relatively mild, and the area manifested as all kinds of powerful energy radiations erupting
