Almost as soon as Vivian finished speaking, a shriek utterly beyond every insane sound in the world, one that could almost tear the sky apart, suddenly came from the distance. The sealed prison, already melted into a lake of lava by the starship's cannons, began trembling once more. Circles of dark-red ripples churned the scorching magma, while black shadows seemed to spread from hell, expanding outward from the center of the lava lake.
A pillar of black-red light appeared once more, corroding the sky of the pocket dimension at an even more violent speed than before.
"Holy shit?!" Even Hao Ren couldn't help crying out in shock. He had never imagined that Nolan's bombardment could one day prove ineffective. "What the hell is that thing?! It actually survived the starship's cannons! The Firstborn were killed in one shot by those cannons!"
"Then there's only one answer: this thing can't be destroyed by conventional means," the Data Terminal said. "Or it's even more powerful than the Firstborn."
"Nolan, prepare the main cannon!" Hao Ren immediately connected to the starship's mainframe. "Authorize the emergency ground-fire code for the main cannon."
Nolan immediately warned him, "The main cannon uses high-frequency psionic attacks. There is a chance it could directly destroy the local pocket dimension's structure, or even cause a minor leak into the external material world. Please confirm the firing order again."
Hao Ren's expression darkened. He pondered and made his decision, but in the end he still nodded. "Confirmed again. Charge the main cannon, but don't fire yet—wait, stop charging for now!"
He interrupted Nolan's action because something unusual had suddenly appeared at the bottom of the distant black-red pillar of light.
A gigantic, swaying black silhouette rose from the lava and shadows.
At first, he thought it was a humanoid monster
