The Data Terminal's sampling accuracy and computational power were beyond doubt. At least in this universe, aside from the Crystal Core Research Station's mainframe and the cluster-computing units of its drone swarms, Hao Ren could not find any information-processing equipment that rivaled the Data Terminal—so he completely trusted its judgment: the space-time inside this sealed ruin had indeed once been frozen!
"You said just now that the Ancient Magic Empire had never mastered time-related technology?" He immediately turned to Archmage Haimo, his expression grave.
Haimo himself was somewhat surprised. Although he had been the one to hypothesize that time inside the ruin had stopped, he still found it incredible now that the hypothesis had been confirmed. "...In theory, that's right. Although the history of the Ancient Magic Empire is incomplete and most of it has become legend, our Mage Association has always placed great importance on collecting historical records. We possess far more information about the Ancient Magic Empire than ordinary people know. Based on the records currently in our possession, they truly had no research into time... There isn't even a mention of it in those documents."
"Technology this important couldn't have appeared out of nowhere. Since none of the historical records mention it at all, the ancient Magic Emperors probably really did lack the ability to control time," Vivian said. "And if they truly could control such a force, they wouldn't have been so utterly helpless when fighting the Firstborn... At the very least, they wouldn't have been destroyed so completely."
"Then the stopped time inside this ruin must have another cause..." Hao Ren said as he walked toward the rooms around the hall. "Let's split up and inspect the place. Since time here has only just begun flowing again, there must still be traces left behind."
