Although he lacked the assistance of the Data Terminal, recording a star map was still easy for Hao Ren. His brain—which he no longer knew whether it could still be considered a human organ—could now memorize and process vast amounts of information incomprehensible to ordinary people, information that could even exceed the logical limits of normal sapient life. In the past, whenever he needed to memorize such things, the Data Terminal would merge with his thoughts and use the AI program to help him handle those complex, monotonous calculations. Now, however, he could only do everything himself. He could manage it, at least, though the heat output was a little high.
As Hao Ren scanned the star map into his memory and performed some simple compilation and annotation on its missing sections, Vivian summoned small-scale polar storms nearby to help cool him down...
Just as he finished processing the star map, Hao Ren heard a "ding" ring out in his mind. Heaven knew how many bizarre features that Lunatic Goddess had added when enhancing him.
"It's time to leave this place." Hao Ren let out a long breath, and his rapidly working brain gradually cooled. "You know how to get out of this spacetime, right?"
Vivian smiled faintly and pointed into the distance. "Look. The door's over there."
On a nearby dune, Yellow Sand receded like flowing water, and a building that looked strikingly familiar to Hao Ren emerged like a mirage.
The mottled exterior walls, the two-story structure, the recently renovated roof—Hao Ren recognized it, of course. He had lived in that house for more than twenty years, and now it was also the peaceful home of a large group of abnormal creatures.
"...I didn't expect you to design the exit to look like this." Hao Ren was startled
