To be honest, Hao Ren had no idea what the sudden creature in front of him actually was. Based on his first impression, he decided to call it a "fairy."
It was a humanoid creature only as tall as his calf, like a proportionally shrunken human. The little creature appeared to be female, wearing a light blue dress of indeterminate material. She had exceptionally beautiful and delicate features, along with a slightly translucent body that looked almost like a spirit's. Her long hair drifted behind her, its ends rippling with tiny arcs of electricity as though charged. Faint particles of light continuously scattered from those dancing sparks, fluttering all around the fairy.
The fairy cautiously crawled out of the grass and stood about ten meters in front of Hao Ren. Carefully keeping beyond that "safe distance," she observed the large figure before her. Her eyes were full of curiosity and wariness, but she kept her face tense and did not say a word.
This is the noisy creature from before? She's quiet now... So she gets noisy when she's with her own kind, but once she gets nervous, she can't speak?
The two of them, one large and one small, stared at each other for a long while. Hao Ren felt that his kind smile and harmless body language had sufficiently proven his friendliness, so he waved at the fairy in the distance. "We..."
Before he could finish, the fairy in front of him cried out, "It talked!" Then she turned and ran back into the grass.
"Was there something wrong with the way I expressed myself...?" Hao Ren was still staring blankly, unable to react. "Why did I scare her away all of a sudden?"
"I think you can understand Old King's usual feelings when he goes out now,"
