Seeing the enormous crystal, dim and lifeless, Hao Ren knew that the fairies' idea of it being "broken" was far worse than he had anticipated.
The navigation core of a planetary warship had not been built with conventional technology—it might not even have been the work of the Guardian Giants, but something personally crafted by the Creation Goddess. Its function was probably far more than merely being a "navigation core." Hao Ren believed that these Resonance Crystals were shrouded in mysteries. The Creation Goddess had devoted a great deal of effort to them during the final days of her life and had even built a secret project around them in the X Sector. Anything related to these mysterious crystals was probably no less significant than the unfinished Creation Engine.
Had they used Resonance Crystals to create the starship navigation cores so that the ships could perform some special function?
Whatever the case, these crystals were still completely incomprehensible advanced technology to Hao Ren. Although the equipment at his disposal could analyze every physical and chemical property of the crystals, as well as the energy fluctuations they emitted, the secrets contained within the crystals themselves went beyond those surface properties. More importantly, Hao Ren had no idea how to bring a crystal that had already "died" back to life.
But he still had to do something. Refusing to study an unknown object was not how an inspector operated.
With the little fairies' guidance and the Data Terminal's scans and analysis, Hao Ren found a way to lower the enormous crystal. Energy was injected into the ancient lifting mechanism once more. Amid a series of teeth-grating creaks and groans, the fixtures above the crystal began to move, lowering the giant, more than ten meters tall, to less than half a meter above
