It was not that they lacked courage. The monster in the sky truly was something they had no chance of opposing.

At the same time, he shouted to Lia beside him. She immediately realized that the ordinary soldiers of flesh and blood could never survive on a battlefield like this, so she raised her hand and created a hemispherical defensive force field, enveloping the Charlemagne siblings and all the ordinary soldiers within it.
The Gorgon Lord in the sky gave off a series of mechanical rumbling sounds. A dark-red opening split apart at its front, and several more missiles trailing flames shot out from within, chasing the exhaust of the first air-to-ground missile as they streaked toward the enemies on the ground.
White-gold lightning filled Kaim's eyes in that instant. He held his lightsaber horizontally at his side, spread the fingers of his left hand toward the missiles, and roared, "Repulsion Field!"
