Sinking into the darkness, Hao Ren gradually lost all five senses. Even his mental world seemed to be disintegrating and fading away, as though he had vanished between heaven and earth and had never existed—not from the past to the future. An ordinary person would probably have panicked completely in such a situation, but Hao Ren quickly calmed down. This was not the first time he had encountered something similar.
Being dragged into the Goddess Illusion by Lia's divine power always felt more or less like this. The process of having his consciousness extracted and injected into the illusionary world was akin to being reborn; this time, the reaction was merely somewhat more intense than before.
Hao Ren waited quietly in the darkness. As the numbness of his mind and the sensation of losing his five senses gradually faded, light indeed reappeared before his eyes, and his feet once again touched solid ground.
He looked around and found himself standing in a magnificent, resplendent hall. Beside him stretched a corridor so broad it was astonishing. Crystal windows dozens of meters high lined both walls, while enormous pillars radiating a faint glow stood along the corridor, extending all the way to the limits of his vision.
Long drapes hung from the vaulted ceiling between them. Golden flames seemed to burn across their surfaces, and within those flames, scenes from the myths of creation constantly shifted and changed.
"Just as I thought..." Hao Ren muttered under his breath, though he felt little surprise.
He had seen this scene before. It was the temple on the Founding Star long ago. After touching the golden disc, he had been brought into this illusionary scene. But this time, it seemed somewhat different from before...
Hao Ren frowned and surveyed the surroundings. He discovered that this
