The scraping of metal armor kept coming from all directions. The sealed, twisting passages of the Underground Palace made the sound echo endlessly, making it impossible to determine the enemies' location or numbers. Hao Ren and the other two retreated while fighting under the pursuit of countless Undead Knights. They had already been running through the astonishingly vast passages for more than ten minutes, yet still hadn't seen any exit leading to the surface. Humans were strange creatures. Sometimes they were so weak it was astonishing, yet some people could erupt with endless strength when driven into a desperate situation. Instead, he seemed to grow braver the more he fought. Although the undead carried swords and blades, they had probably only just awakened. These fellows moved slowly and were none too bright. All they knew was to lower their heads and charge forward with their weapons, as if they had forgotten how to use them. Taking advantage of his agility, Hao Ren could still occasionally kick away the tin cans that got close to him. Aside from aching calves, he hadn't suffered any injuries for the time being.
