Hao Ren and the others arrived at this shelter city deep underground. However, after their initial surprise, everyone soon realized that it was just as deserted as everywhere else.

There were no pedestrians on the streets. Although the tall, imposing buildings were brightly lit, not a single window showed any sign of movement. Vehicles could be seen busily traveling along the roads and through the air above, but when Izax waved down one of them, they discovered that they were all operating without drivers.

"What now?" Lily spun around on the spot, looking at the brightly lit yet empty city. "What happened to those survivors we were promised?"

The more Nangong Sanba thought about it, the more something felt wrong. He looked up at the sky and loudly questioned some nonexistent "spectator": "Hey! We've reached the shelter! What now? There's no one here!"

No one appeared. The only response was the rush of wind stirred up by an unmanned vehicle speeding through the air overhead.
