Reunion

Standing before Hao Ren and the others was a couple who looked quite young. The woman wore a long, dark blue dress of indeterminate material, and her long hair was pinned up high. Her features bore a strong resemblance to Nangong May's. The man wore a long black trench coat, open to reveal the signature wide belt of a Demon Hunter, with a small silver dagger hanging from it. Aside from that, though, he carried none of the usual weapons, such as a hand crossbow. His appearance bore a five- or six-tenths resemblance to Nangong Sanba's. Thanks to the Sirens' unusual "selective inheritance," the Nangong siblings had each inherited the looks of one of their parents.

As they were nonhumans, the couple hadn't grown old from a mere hundred years passing. They still looked young, though much more mature than their children. They stared in shock at the large group before them, at a loss for what to do. Then, when they heard May's cry, they both froze.

"Dad, Mom, it's us!" May tugged her brother forward at a run. "It's May! My brother and I came to find you!"

"May? Sanba?" The male Demon Hunter stared at the two young people before him in disbelief, his steps wavering slightly. He had never imagined he might see anyone else here, let alone his own children. "How... how did you get here?"

"We caught the vengeful spirit from back then, and the Landlord found this place in its memories," Sanba said, trying to compose himself as he hurriedly explained. "These people are our friends—they helped us get here. Mom, Dad, have you been living here all this time, for the past hundred years?"

The family reunion was deeply moving, but Hao Ren felt a little awkward standing there as an outsider.
