Izax yanked his head out of the upper wall of the pipe with a bang, bringing down a shower of metal fragments and stones. He spat them out. "I don't want to fight in a place like this. It'd be too easy to accidentally bring down the entire passage."

The mechanical noise was coming from a branch pipe on the left. However, after everyone stayed on guard for a while, no enemies appeared. From the sound of it, the noise seemed to be coming from some sort of drive mechanism. Nangong Sanba cautiously went over to take a look, then waved at everyone. "There's a gate over here!"
