Killing instinct was a term specifically referring to the murderous awareness and combat reactions that Demon Hunters uncontrollably developed when facing inhuman creatures. Demon Hunters regarded it as a beneficial talent, because it allowed them to enter combat mode extremely quickly and fight inhuman creatures without mercy or hesitation.
More importantly, killing instinct was the foundation of many of their perception techniques. Eighty percent of their ability to identify and predict inhuman creatures was based on it.
Of course, even without this instinct, a skilled hunter could still sniff out the scent of an inhuman creature from among a crowd. However, just like in Ryūsei and Zhao Xi's current situation, they could only sense the presence of inhuman creatures. They could no longer accurately perceive their species or strength as they had before, nor could they produce combat reactions.
Hao Ren frowned at Ryūsei. "What happened before your killing instinct disappeared?"
"There were no warning signs. This ability suddenly began to weaken, and to be honest...we're not even sure when it first started weakening. We can only roughly determine that it was about a month ago." Ryūsei folded his hands on the table, looking deeply worried.
"Killing instinct only manifests when facing inhuman creatures."
"How did you think of coming to me?" Hao Ren asked curiously. Although he had reached a peace agreement with the two Demon Hunters in front of him, the Demon Hunter faction was still rather sensitive to the tenants on his side. He didn't know why Ryūsei hadn't sought help from his own organization and had instead come here.
Ryūsei didn't hide his thoughts. "I know your background. You should know a lot of things, so asking you might be more useful than seeking help from our own organization."
"We did also contact the regional director
