The situation was developing exactly as Hao Ren had guessed: it was not only the Demon Hunters' instinct to hunt that was fading. The innate hostility between other nonhuman races was gradually disappearing as well. Although signs of weakening hostility had already appeared among the younger generations of various nonhuman races, they were nothing compared to what was happening now. Their hostility had not merely weakened—it had vanished completely.
According to Heiserana, quite a number of young people in the Athens Sanctuary had experienced this phenomenon. It was most pronounced among nonhuman races under two hundred years old—quite a young group for long-lived races. There were also cases of hostility disappearing among those over two hundred, but there were currently too few to be counted. The phenomenon seemed unrelated to race. Whether they were Vampires, Werewolves, halflings, or shadow fiends, every race in the sanctuary was experiencing it, and the proportion of affected people was roughly the same.
"Heiserana said it's practically like a plague." Vivian fiddled with her phone and muttered, "Things over there are already getting a little chaotic. Several major families have strictly forbidden their young members from going out, while Hesperis and several Elders are stepping in to maintain order."
"A plague? Isn't that a good thing?" Hao Ren was baffled. "They used to barely coexist peacefully, but now they've lost their hostility from the bottom of their hearts. I figured things in the sanctuary would improve. Why are they still not letting people out?"
Vivian glanced at him. "If everyone's hostility disappeared, then of course it would be a good thing. The problem is that only some of the nonhumans have been affected. Losing their hostility is like a Demon Hunter losing the instinct to hunt. It weakens ordinary nonhumans' ability to sense other races
