A thick fog stood before the group, almost solid as a wall. Hao Ren stopped in front of it and looked to either side, discovering that the wall of fog stretched all the way to the edge of his vision before gradually closing in far in the distance.
The dense fog had sealed off the entire town. There was no road ahead anymore.
"This is probably the town's boundary." Vivian also stopped. She cautiously reached a hand into the thick fog, and a strange, slippery, warm sensation came from within it. "The secret realm has a limited range. There probably isn't anywhere to go farther ahead."
"Why have you stopped? Hurry up and follow me, hurry up—" Heimowen's voice came from the side. He was about to step into the fog, but discovered that Hao Ren and the others had all stopped in place. "We need to hurry, we need to hurry. The demon might get away..."
"You can't see through this thick fog?" Hao Ren pointed at the wall of fog ahead. "However you look at it, we really shouldn't be going in there."
Heimowen looked bewildered. He turned toward the fog-shrouded boundary of the town. "Fog? What fog? Could there be better weather than this? I can even see the old mill from here."
Everyone froze. This "ghost" actually couldn't see the dense fog sealing off the town's borders.
Hao Ren was just about to ask something else when Heimowen had already lifted his leg and walked into the wall of fog. Then, a miraculous scene appeared:
