A sliver of light appeared at the bottom of the cave, so deep that its end was almost impossible to see. After descending for so long, they had finally reached the end.
Hao Ren looked up toward the direction they had come from. The cave entrance had long since vanished completely, and only a hazy darkness remained above them. The cave was so deep that, midway down, it had even formed a belt of dust deposits resembling clouds. Hao Ren clicked his tongue at the depth. "Good grief, it's this deep... Did that Baptiste really manage to make it down here alive?"
Vivian nodded. "Wizards have many tricks. Perhaps he knew a flying spell. That is, assuming he wasn't torn apart by the monsters first."
The car continued downward. Hao Ren noticed that the light outside wasn't spreading up directly from below, but was shining in from the dark cave walls on every side. After they descended to a certain depth, many enormous cracks appeared in the distant walls. They seemed to lead straight to the outside world.
After descending several hundred more meters, they finally reached the ground.
"The surroundings are safe." Duncan studied the environment outside. "Let's just pick a direction and drive forward. Those cracks around us should lead outside."
The bottom of the cave was a place of interwoven light and shadow. It was still generally dark, but light seeped in from several triangular openings in the distance. Hao Ren had originally thought that coming down from the cave would take them straight into an open area. Now, however, it seemed that this passage was like some kind of pipe driven directly into the ground. Even after reaching the end, they still had to crawl out through cracks in the "pipe" to see the true scenery
