It was the residence of the Guardian Giants, a laboratory where the Goddess experimented with certain special species, and that deity's gateway and imperial palace. The planet known as "Sulun" had once served as the first line of defense for this sacred land. From the edge of the star-forming nebula cluster, it looked down upon all the starlight and courtyards throughout the galaxy. It was also a place of pilgrimage for one of the few mortal races fortunate enough to come into direct contact with the Goddess.
During the God-Slaying War, this gateway was the first divine realm to fall. However, according to Muru, fierce battles had continued here even after its fall. The traitor's armies had densely covered every inch of airspace in Sulun's Gate, yet the surviving guardians had continued to resist fiercely from a handful of fortresses and strongholds on the fortress planet, while trying to turn back and support their mother.
