Wayne remained patient despite being interrupted. "They attack others indiscriminately. However, even after going mad, they only attack members of the Supernatural Race. That is all recorded in ancient books, though, so we cannot be certain."
The Chaos Shadow only targeted special races possessing supernatural powers—in other words, those stowaways from the Dream Plane. People attacked by the Chaos Shadow would also fall into a frenzy of indiscriminate attacks, but their targets would still be limited to the Others. This extremely bizarre trait made Hao Ren vaguely realize something: it resembled a more primitive form of "innate hostility," an aggressive tendency that arose only among the Others.
The only thing that remained unexplained was why Izax and his daughter had also been attacked. Although they counted as members of the Supernatural Race, they were not from the Dream Plane.
Hao Ren temporarily suppressed this question and listened as Wayne continued explaining the situation.
