Hao Ren had originally assumed that a "Supernatural Detective" like Pierre, who operated on the fringes of magic, wouldn't have access to any particularly good sources of information, so he hadn't paid much attention to what Pierre told him. People like that were, after all, little more than scavengers in the supernatural world. Everything they could get their hands on was shallow knowledge that the Others disdained. Even Demon Hunters had little interest in people who drifted between humanity and the Others. But Hao Ren had clearly overlooked one thing: after the "Mythic Collapse," many things had narrowly escaped the Demon Hunters' purge. In the end, those things happened to fall into the hands of humans whom every faction considered unimportant.

The problem was that these scattered remnants were incredibly scarce and distributed in complete disarray. In this modern age, when occult teachings had declined across the board, no one had ever organized them.

Someone like Pierre certainly knew very little about the world of the Others as a whole. His explanation of the "Mythic Collapse" was also nothing more than the deceptive nonsense those superstitious occultists had concocted in their own minds. But the "Sun Disc" he mentioned was probably real, because he had brought up the key phrase "Shadow of Divine Wrath." It was hard not to associate it with those mysterious shadows that had sparked the conflicts.

"What exactly is the Sun Disc?" Vivian had taken an interest in the term as well, and she asked curiously.

Pierre pulled a crumpled scroll from his satchel. Using the dim light, he carefully spread it out on the table. "This scroll is extremely valuable. I found it in an Underground Palace in Egypt, and I nearly lost my life over it... I believe this depicts the Sun Disc."
