As the seemingly endless beast tide continued, Jiang Fan rose to first place in kills and hinted that Qi Qi could take second place after the military expanded its operation.

  • Jiang Fan overcame the Imperial Guard’s disorienting attack, disarmed him, and won the third trial.
  • Jiang Fan received Yue Xuanzu’s inheritance and learned the Starry Visualization Technique, then practiced it beneath the stars.
  • Jiang Fan wondered whether martial artists were trapped by the incomplete world and what connected their space to the High-Martial World.
  • Over five days, Jiang Fan killed more than 180 strange beasts to take first place, while Qi Qi reached third with more than 160 kills.
  • After the beast tide showed no sign of ending, Commander Huang Huang Kun ordered more troops and equipment and an expanded defensive line.
  • Jiang Fan told Qi Qi that she might rank second after the next day’s hunt.

At Garden City's military headquarters, Jiao Yang confronted Lu Zhenguo and Bai Qiu over the deaths of his soldiers, then recommended Jiang Fan for the Star General Cultivation Plan. Lu Zhenguo dismissed the idea, judging Jiang Fan's age and cultivation too ordinary, and he and Bai Qiu left without meeting Jiao Yang.

  • Commander Huang thanked Lu Zhenguo and Bai Qiu for helping defeat the Level 5 Exotic Beast, and Lu Zhenguo explained that the Great Rift would need to be fortified.
  • Jiao Yang burst into the room and demanded to know why Bai Qiu had waited until nearly all his soldiers were dead before acting.
  • Lu Zhenguo explained that the beast had hidden inside the Great Rift and that they had waited for an opportunity; Jiao Yang accepted the explanation but mourned his fallen soldiers.
  • Before leaving, Jiao Yang recommended Jiang Fan for the Central War Zone's Star General Cultivation Plan, and Lu Zhenguo said he would consider it.
  • Outside the military subdistrict, Bai Qiu asked Lu Zhenguo about Jiang Fan, but Lu Zhenguo rejected the recommendation because Jiang Fan was only a seventeen-year-old Level 3 Martial Artist and did not meet the plan's special criteria.
