Background / History

Miya and Hyuga Shin were classmates from major clans. While the Uchiha were isolated within Konoha, Miya was the one person who helped Shin when the Hyuga Main Family bullied him; the two consequently maintained a private friendship despite their clans’ distance. 2

During the war against Kumogakure, Miya served as a Chunin alongside Shin. When their four-man squad was surrounded by seventeen Cloud ninja, he withdrew so that Shin’s surrender could secure the escape of valuable intelligence. He later attempted to return alone for Shin when reinforcements were unavailable. 20 30

Miya’s rivalry with Shin intensified after Shin’s wartime rise. Although he had achieved Three-Tomoe Sharingan, he recognized the widening difference in their strength and trained obsessively to catch up. Their regular spars remained a central part of their friendship, even as Miya copied Shin’s Lightning Release techniques. 12 30 33

After Shin annihilated the Hyuga Main Family, Miya pursued him to their usual grove and learned that Shin had obtained evidence of Danzō’s theft of Uchiha Sharingan. Shin’s subsequent death caused Miya to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan. He regarded Shin’s sacrifice as a debt that could not be allowed to become meaningless. 35 36 39

Miya pressured Uchiha Fugaku into forming an alliance with Hizashi Hyuga and Namikaze Minato. He personally supported the reconstructed Hyuga Clan through ninjutsu exchanges, commercial protection, shuriken training, and battlefield cooperation. 39 40

Later, Miya joined Senju Gō’s plan to overthrow Konoha’s old leadership. Gō granted him two Yin Sage Curse Marks and enlisted him to control the Two-Tails, attack Root, and expose Danzō’s crimes. 68 69 70

Appearance

Miya is a young, handsome Uchiha shinobi with crimson Sharingan eyes. His Three-Tomoe Sharingan later evolves into a distinctive Mangekyo pattern, and he carries a sword in battle. 7 30 39 72

He buys Shin food, worries about Shin’s treatment by the Hyuga, trains with him despite injuries, and reacts with fury when Shin attempts to shoulder danger alone. 12 19 35 Shin’s death leaves Miya deeply remorseful over failing to stand beside him when it mattered. 36

After Shin’s death, Miya becomes more forceful and politically decisive. He challenges Fugaku’s hesitation, drives the Uchiha–Hyuga alliance forward, and joins Senju Gō because he refuses to repeat his earlier failure to support someone acting for Konoha’s future. 39 40 68
