Chapter 14: Ancient Secrets (Part 1)

Chen Yun slowly opened his eyes. After a brief period of adjustment, he saw the haggard Old Ent squatting in front of him. "Grandpa! What am I...?" Chen Yun asked, looking around in confusion, "How did I get here?"

Seeing that Chen Yun had finally woken up, Old Ent let out a heavy sigh of relief and smiled faintly. "Heh heh, don't worry about that for now. See if there's anything uncomfortable about your body?"

Chen Yun listened and carefully sensed his entire body. After a long while, he suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze filled with disbelief. "Grandpa, my body... what's going on? I feel like my body is completely different now, like it's very strong!" Chen Yun said in shock.

Upon hearing this, Old Ent stroked his beard with one hand, his face beaming with joy. He said with a smile, "Little Chen! You're lucky, you know? You are the legendary Dragon Blood Warrior from ancient myths!"

"Dragon Blood Warrior?" Chen Yun asked doubtfully, then a picture of an Azure Dragon, over a hundred zhang long, flashed through his mind.

"Dragon?" Chen Yun couldn't help but murmur softly.

Seeing Chen Yun's confused expression, Old Ent smiled mysteriously. "I'll tell you all about these things in a few days. For now, you should rest well. I'll go get you something to eat."

As soon as Old Ent finished speaking, a strange rumbling sound came from Chen Yun's stomach at the opportune moment. The grandfather and grandson were stunned and stared at each other.

"Hahaha...!" Old Ent burst into laughter, while Chen Yun touched the back of his head and smiled awkwardly. "Heh heh! Grandpa, you timed that perfectly! Heh heh..."

Seeing this, Old Ent shook his head helplessly and rolled his eyes. "You've been unconscious for a month and a half, kid. Of course, you'd be hungry when you wake up! Do you think you're a god?!" Without waiting for Chen Yun to react, he quickly walked out of the room, leaving Chen Yun looking bewildered.

Another beautiful and serene morning. The early morning in the small village always seemed so beautiful. The faint sound of roaring water could be heard from the distant mountains and forests.

Following the sound, what appeared before them was still the magnificent waterfall. Beneath the largest waterfall in the middle, a black shadow could be vaguely seen, emitting a faint red light mixed with some golden radiance.

"Hoo~!" Suddenly, a loud shout erupted from under the waterfall. Then, the huge waterfall in the middle abruptly stopped its flow, halting right above the head of a child who looked about six years old.

"Hoo~!" Another loud shout, accompanied by a strong rumbling sound, caused the upper and lower parts of the waterfall to collide against all logic. A rain of mist immediately formed around the pool. Then, a figure radiating golden-red light shot out rapidly and stopped abruptly in front of an elder with a straight posture and white hair and beard.

This person was none other than Chen Yun. "Grandpa!" Chen Yun called out with a smile.

"En! Not bad. Your physical body has now stabilized at the fourth level, and your Battle Qi has just reached the third level! Tsk tsk..." Old Ent smiled with satisfaction, but couldn't help but praise him at the end. Chen Yun habitually touched the back of his head and chuckled foolishly.

Then, Old Ent seemed to recall something. He beckoned Chen Yun over and they directly sat down on a large rock by the pool.

"Little Chen! It's time I told you some things I know. After all, you possess the bloodline of the legendary Dragon Blood Warrior!" As he said this, Old Ent took a deep look at Chen Yun.

"Legend says that at the beginning of the universe, four Celestial Beasts were born in the heavens and earth: the Azure Dragon, the Vermilion Bird, and the Black Tortoise. The Azure Dragon, having formed the earliest and absorbed the most primordial energy of the universe, was the strongest. It is also said that the Azure Dragon possessed a terrifying divine ability that the other three Celestial Beasts did not, but I don't know what it was."

"Legend says our War God Continent is merely a small planar space in the vast universe, with countless such spaces. Higher-level spaces include realms like the God Realm, Beast God Realm, and Underworld. As for whether there are other spaces, I cannot know. Beings on our War God Continent, as long as they cultivate to the Venerable Rank, can break through spatial constraints and enter one of the three realms. However, even beings as powerful as the Venerable Rank are only at the bottom in those spaces. Experts at the War God level are the main force there... I learned all this from the scrolls in my family's archives, but the scrolls only contained brief and not detailed records..."

"Family?" Chen Yun interrupted Old Ent.

Seeing this, Old Ent knew he had let slip a detail. But after a moment's thought, he sighed deeply. "I will tell you everything about myself later. For now, let's finish what we were talking about!"

With that, Old Ent looked directly into Chen Yun's eyes and slowly said, "And the Dragon Blood Warrior is the offspring of an Azure Dragon and a human woman!"
