Background / History

Old Ent found Chen Yun as a baby in a hidden mountain hollow after the Fierce Beast Tide devastated their village. The infant carried a mysterious Jade Pendant, which Old Ent believed was linked to his origins and warned him to conceal. Chen Yun grew up regarding Old Ent as his grandfather. 27

Chen Yun’s body houses the soul of another Chen Yun: a 21st-century high-school student who transmigrated into this world six years before the events of his early childhood. Both his past and present lives were shaped by being deemed talentless; in his previous life, he had a congenital intellectual disability, while in this life he was mocked as a cultivation “waste.” 12 38

After awakening his Dragon Blood bloodline during a painful physical-body breakthrough, Chen Yun trained under Old Ent in the Hundred Thousand Forest.
