In Year 46 of Konoha, the Third Kazekage of Sunagakure in the Land of Wind mysteriously disappeared.

After the Third Kazekage vanished, Sunagakure spared no effort in searching for him. Because of the scale of the search, nearly all the major nations learned of his disappearance.

When the leader of one village disappeared, the other countries naturally reacted in their own ways. Interests became entangled, some sought to take advantage of the situation, and others deliberately fanned the flames... War broke out.
