Background

Chu Xin was originally a timid modern-world girl who entered the Lord God Space as a Reincarnator. During her first mission in the Underworld setting, she avoided pursuing a vampire bloodline and chose to survive quietly; by the time of her next mission, she had gained a talent that could vaguely sense good and evil 24 84.

In the Nine Cauldrons world, she inhabited Li Qingyu's identity. Her sincere but naive sense of responsibility initially led Gu Sheng to regard her as harmless, but she later disclosed her Reincarnator identity and sensing talent to him 17 24. Gu Sheng briefly abducted her while framing Qin San, then released her after securing medicinal resources from the Li family 25 27.

Rather than leaving after obtaining sufficient mission completion, Chu Xin remained with Gu Sheng to honor their agreement and because she feared for his safety in the Wildlands 31. Their partnership developed through training, treasure-hunting, and cultivation; after both reached the First-Rate realm, she accepted Gu Sheng's confession 39. Teng Village later received her as Gu Sheng's fiancée 62.

Chu Xin is repeatedly described as a petite, delicate young woman with soft features and a youthful appearance. Her appearance changes markedly when her ocular abilities are active.

Personality

Chu Xin begins as innocent, trusting, and somewhat naive. She tries to shoulder responsibilities personally, even when doing so exhausts her, and initially trusts Gu Sheng because her talent does not perceive him as malicious 17 24. She is also impulsive, forgetful, and inclined to avoid difficult training when life is peaceful 29 40 101.

Her priorities are strongly shaped by family. She treasures the fatherly affection she received from Lord Li while using Li Qingyu's identity, and later asks to postpone missions so she can prepare for her final exams and make her mother happy 29 101. Although normally timid, she becomes fiercely protective when Huang Anqi is threatened, awakening her suppressed Reincarnator instincts and retaliating against the attackers 208.

Experience gradually turns her into a composed and capable fighter. She develops precise timing, battlefield perception, and tactical judgment, while retaining compassion even for enemies such as the Otsutsuki remnant who loved his family 280 767.
