The base had shops, designated market stalls and street patrols, though ragged survivors still begged along its roads. Entrants underwent a twenty-four-hour observation period; its territory included an administrative Zone A and a Zone B for influential residents and high-level ability users 152 154.
Four Seasons Valley
Four Seasons Valley was White Dragon Base’s food source and a closely guarded part of its foundation. Its rice-growing method used nutrient solution derived from black ore; survivors were transported to the valley, where human experimentation was also conducted 347 387. The resulting grain was reserved for the White Dragon team and Gu family elites. Ordinary survivors could not obtain it 421 438.
After Jiang You destroyed the valley, the base’s reserves lasted less than half a month. Rations for the team and Gu family were cut, while escaped survivors spread news of the cultivation method and research. The Gu family suppressed internal conflicts but had to surrender part of its authority to outside forces to maintain temporary stability 390 421.
Conflict with Jiang You
- Huai Shan Farm: White Dragon Base pursued information about Yan Chi’s ability to create rotting corpses. Gu Mingfeng ordered Gu Mingyuan to assemble three hundred elites to bring Yan Chi and Jiang You back from Ancheng 202.
- Ancheng: Jiang You’s wind formations trapped base personnel and flying mounts. Later fighting against her Wind Dragon and Yan Chi’s rotting corpses inflicted heavy losses on the base’s forces 219 223 249 250.
- Wanted orders: The Gu family issued and repeatedly increased bounties for Jiang You. After repeated missions to Ancheng failed, ability users stopped accepting them, and the losses undermined confidence in the Gu family’s leadership 387 829.
Collapse
The food crisis and internal unrest left White Dragon Base vulnerable. Zhu Xie then entered the base and advanced on the Gu family; attacks against him were reflected onto his attackers. Following the announced death of the Gu family master, external forces moved in and divided the base 421 422.
The White Dragon Team was disbanded. Most of its flying mounts and mutated beasts were killed, while upper-level ability users defected or left. Three families later controlled the base, with worsening conditions for ordinary survivors amid their struggles for power 422.
