Shuji outmaneuvered Obito, helped secure a fragile peace with Nagato, and became the Sixth Hokage. As the villages coordinated against new coastal attacks, Neji prepared to visit the Kaguya Clan and Jiraiya suspected Orochimaru was behind the danger.

• Shuji tested aerial movement, advised Naruto and Gaara, and watched Gaara join Sunagakure’s office to learn what the village needed.
• The Feudal Lord asked Konoha to host Maru Ichikyu and stop the Uchiha review, while Gato’s schemes led to the Tea Daimyo’s murder and Sasori’s capture and conversion of Shili.
• The villages agreed to research sealed tailed-beast chakra together, but White Zetsu attacked the Bureau and Mizuki and Aoi tried to take Naruto before Hiashi and the Police Force rescued him.
• Shuji ambushed Obito during a chakra theft, killed him with his Susanoo, then met Nagato and persuaded him to halt hostilities.
• Shuji returned to Konoha, received his original eyes, celebrated his birthday, and was named the Sixth Hokage at the Academy graduation ceremony.
• Sasuke awakened his three-tomoe Sharingan after Tobirama explained the burdens of becoming Hokage, while Shuji set new Bureau and research policies and Jiraiya returned from abroad.
• Shuji approved Naruto and Sasuke’s early graduation applications as organized attacks struck coastal villages, and Nagato and Jiraiya began investigating the threat.
• Hiashi arranged a visit to the Kaguya Clan with Neji, while Nagato tasked Shinnō and Hiruko with the search and Jiraiya warned that Orochimaru and Zetsu might be directing the attacks.

Shuji confronted Toneri’s attack on the ninja world, helped save Konoha from Madara, and uncovered Isshiki’s interest in Neji. After Madara tried to capture the revived Three-Tails, Shuji and Itachi drove him off, and Shuji left Kakashi to prepare to take up the Hokage’s role.

• Shuji and Nagato fought Toneri on the moon, destroyed the Super Tenseigan, and learned that Toneri’s father had been attacked in the ninja world.
• Madara’s meteor assault devastated the battlefield, and he trapped Konoha inside a massive sphere of rock before Shuji’s Wood Golem broke the village free.
• Shuji revealed the danger of the Ten-Tails and Isshiki to Nagato, Minato, Tobirama, Toneri, and Kabuto, while Neji’s unexplained memories led Shuji to suspect Isshiki had chosen him as a vessel.
• Isshiki captured Neji, removed the Caged Bird mark, and placed a black Karma on his palm as Shuji assured Hiashi that Neji would remain safe for now.
• Madara and Hashirama fought over the Gelel Ore, while Shuji and Kakashi recovered the ore from Kamui and Shuji gave part of it to the Mother Stock.
• Madara confronted Shuji at the lake during the Three-Tails’ revival, but Shuji and Itachi attacked together before Madara escaped with more than half of Isobu’s chakra.
• Shuji brought the shrunken Isobu to the Jinchuriki Squad, then left Kakashi the Hokage’s hat as Kakashi prepared to choose whether to become the Sixth-and-a-halfth or Seventh Hokage.
